So I'm trying to do the diet and exercise track, and the exercise bit isn't so hot. My trainer is now doing this deal where you sign up for 15 weeks of three sessions (gym sessions people - sheesh - dope sessions would be way more fun) per week and at the end of three/four months you should be buff.

    Its gonna freakin hurt.

My first one is at 7.30am tomorrow.

I have to go pack now.

However - on a happier note, mum's s/o has got the spa pool running out on the deck. whoooohooo.

It will only hurt for the first week or two, trust me.

Take photos of your self in a swimsuit for good before, during and after shots. Tape the before shot to your fridge for motivation.

Remember, when you lose fat, you lose it all over and that means a lot of intramuscular fat, which, when lost, isn't readily visible. Try using bodyfat calipers to measure progress.

    Stick with it!

I have to use California vernacular now that I'm not in California anymore, because I get homesick.

Make sure you stretch after you work out, it's more important and better and saer than before.

Plus, I find that if you have a protein rich meal about an hour after you work out, it helps reduce the soreness.

but it's good to feel a little sore, that means you've stressed your muscles and that's what stimulates muscle growth and consequentially, fat loss. Remember though: what's most important if you are lifting weights is to rest. Muscles grow after they are stimulted and you need to rest them well between exercising. So you should have at least 24 and preferably 48 hours betwen exercises for different muscle groups. So, if you do upper body one day, it's best to do aerobics the next day, then lower body, aerobics, and then upper body again. You get a lot of rest for the muscles, which only need a real brief stimulation to start the growth of new tissue.

i guess it's time i got my ass back in the gym - I am getting so close to getting rid of this spare tire! Plus, Mavis sent me this total redneck 3/4 quarter sleeved shirt from 1984, with the champions from the previous 3 years inteh NAtional Four wheel Drive Pull contest on it. I would look really good in it if I could lose this little gut o' mine. Plus my shoulders would look good too.
