i got to work at six this evening, and lee (the only other person in the department this late) was about to go on her break, when two men walked up to me and said "there's a bird in here!" so i called the pic, and got out some kleenex (after asking lee to stay until i got the bird out) and began to follow the bird around the store. it was a little confused. it flew into the glass doors, and landed on a bench amoung a family. then i set off down the aisle and i lost track of it. finally, it perched on a checkstand across from the jewelers. it was afraid of me so it hopped down and got trapped in some socks. that's when i caught it and held it (wrapped in kleenex and very gently). i took it outside and opened my hand. it didn't let go. finally i forced it off the kleenex and onto a little bush. it was a sparrow.
