slept too late, raced through breakfast, kissed my sweetheart goodbye, filled the dishwasher, started reading a cheapskate/tightwad/recycling book, read that you can make pants into blouses (now I can wear two pairs of pants at once?!), went and found all of my pants that had holes in the groins, cut the groins out and put them over my head to try to fit my arms through the legs/sleeves, realized I need to get some ribbon at a garage sale to finish off the crotch/neck holes, found a package in the hallway that contained a sample I ordered online, brought the package in and admired my new gift, ate some cereal and a cup of yogurt, made and drank some tea, realized that the mailman had come, went out to get the mail, found a sh-tload of other samples and promptly opened them, consumed my free Nordic Naturals fruit- flavored fish oil capsules, re-organized my supplement bottles, opened a freaky evangelist's mailing that contained a yellow fabric handprint (don't ask me why, I don't know), decided to add it to the quilt I'm making out of all the weird pieces of "holy" fabric I get from weird evengelists, made a garage-sale shopping list, kicked the cat off my desk chair so I could use the computer, started looking up more samples online and somehow found this page (I'm not sure why it came up), decided to start typing and vent my boredom with my life. |
venting boredom has to be one of the top reasons to come here. my suggestion: start your own clothing line. i work in a little antique/craft/art/etc. shop. we have a woman who has an entire clothing (and purses) line called "potluck" which she makes entirely out of old clothes that she gets from goodwill, garage sales, etc. it's a pretty big seller. |
Any pics of the results? Are they decent-looking clothes? Are they sturdy and functional? I like the idea! I'm just afraid of looking like a "ragamuffin" or a "rug-rat." |
the seamstress's name is pronounced "MY-lee" but I don't know how she spells it. she's good, though; i've watched her doing a custom fitting. and a "ragamuffin" look is hip around these parts (a college town in texas.) |
