Click on the sidebar for more images....especially to see the interior. Its amazing! Ive watched the construction of this for over a year now, even snapped some early shots as its skeleton was so bizarre looking. Its an amazing project and actually something i'm thrilled to see go up. Los Angeles, architecture-wise, doesnt really have anything that stands out icon-wise. We don't have our TransAmerica tower our Sears Tower or Empire State Bldg When people send postcards of LA, they send cards relating to the beach, Hollywood sign or Beverly Hills. Considering it was designed by Gehry, its even more of a treasure. For once Im grateful for Disney's involvment and patronage. I now have something new that I'm delighted and amuseded to see when I go downtown. The other most recent major project completed, nearly across the street from the Disney Hall is this monstrosity, that is, the Our Lady of Angels Cathedral Yuck! That aside, Im excited for the new Disney Hall as not only is it supposed to be amazing accoustic wize, its one of the most unique landmarks thats been put in downtown LA for the longest time. |
