What are your favorte newspaper comic strips?

My favorite is Get Fuzzy. That poor sweet dumb dog kills me.

I like the way that the animals are drawn pretty realistically, but they are completely anthropomorphized and can talk to anybody, not just their owner.

I havent read newspaper comics since I was a kid. They stopped being funny to me at a certain age.

But speaking of funny, I managed to catch Richard Prior Live...recorded in the late 70s in Long Beach, and that is funny.

I like Get Fuzzy. I read the Boondocks, Doonesbury, and Mr. Boffo everyday. I also admit to following For Better or For Worse, simply because I'm fascinated by how the stories and characters develop in real time.

My all-time favorite newspaper strip was Bloom County.

Calvin and hobbes, best there ever was!!

to bad he quit drawing them.

At least semi and I can agree one one thing "Bloom County" was the best. I still wear my Bill and Opus tee shirts.

Next to "Bloom County" was "The Far Side". Followed by the early years of "Doonesbury".

Right now I rarely read the papers. So I rarely get to see the comics. But, my current favorite is Dilbert. It's a pretty accurate characterization of the modern office world.

Whoa. How did you do that?

(PS. Tell me this isn't cute. I mean, come on!)

By Platypus on Tuesday, June 10, 2003 - 10:09 pm:

Get Fuzzy totally rocks. It's one of the reasons I solely read the Chronicle, because they have it and the Democrat doesn't.

By Spider on Wednesday, June 11, 2003 - 10:41 am:

Satchel is the cutest thing ever, especially when he gets sad or worried, like in yesterday's strip. Awwwwww.

I bought myself two early birthday presents last night -- two Get Fuzzy collections ("Groovitude" and "The Get Fuzzy Experience").

By Ophelia on Wednesday, June 11, 2003 - 12:39 pm:

i like zippy and dilbert and calvin and hobbes and the old peanuts strips, especially the ones where charlie brown and peppermint patty sit under the tree and discuss the meaning of life.

i also like for better or for worse and foxtrot.

i read all of the comics in the boston globe, even the terrible ones, and the horoscopes which are on the same page.

I like Get Fuzzy, the Boondocks, Calvin and Hobbes, and Bloom County. I like almost everything that Berkeley Breathed has done. He wrote my favorite Christmas book, The Red Ranger Came Calling. Sem replaced my lost copy when we first started dating. I highly recommend it.

when I was a kid I thought Garfield was the greatest thing in the world.

    Garfield sucks.

Peanuts I never found funny, but sad. That made it unique, so I appreciated it in a way.

Calvin and Hobbes and the Far Side were the best.
