    I need to buy one.

I quite like this but its not very Mel-lis and a bit boring, ans sort of what you expect relatives to buy.

I like this tapa tray \link {http://www.fishhead-gifts.com/index.cfm?cat=x&action=select&p_code_1=SA7&p_code_2=1&, but} same problem.

    I hate shopping.

I saw some cool liquid filled coasters with goldfish or tadpoles in them that I thought were quite cool, but I have no idea!

    Help!

I was going to say God. Because I have never seen an award show where someone didnt.

But I'd also like to thank Hal, for his continued support, Pez for her shoe styles, and of course Mr Mark Thomas, - without him, none of this would be possible.

    Thanks *sniff*

a good gift we got someone recently was a japanese ceremonial tea set.....from......well.....japan.

or a really nice chop stick set or sushi serving set is a good idea. japanese have neato cool pottery and serving sets...i love all the little trays bowls and what not. im actually happy to go with the mrs into little tokoyo and purchase such wares...if she were to ask me to go to the...say....pottery barn or Pier 1 id have to decline.

I got someone a water filter as a present once. I was sick of drinking rusty-piped tap water at their house.

you should get them a subscription to a wine service. you know, a new bottle every month for a year. that would be fucking cool.

I mean, don't buy a nice couple some dumb thing that will just collect take up room in their cupboard, or, worse, on the mantle.

I recently helped my boyfriend clean his house, and I took every dumb, ugly little knickknack off his shelves and put them all in the cupboard over the sink. I told him if he ever missed dusting off all that ugly crap (each one a gift, of course), he could go pull the damn thing out of the cupboard. he hasn't yet.

    wine sucks ass.

    blech.

By patrick on Thursday, March 15, 2001 - 04:39 pm:

    thats cause you're an idiot.

    idiots don't drink wine.....idiot.

By cyst on Thursday, March 15, 2001 - 05:55 pm:

that's the thing. even if they don't like wine, it'll always be handy to have around. when they have guests over, they can offer to open a bottle of wine. when they go to a dinner party, they can bring a bottle of wine.

and they can always use them to fill the wine rack that some other invitee will inevitably buy for them.
