Sem, do you (or anybody else here) know anything about Minnesota? i.e., remote cabins and/or camping, where to go etc. I have yet to do any research online, but I'm looking for a jumping off point from people with firsthand experience. Never been, and we're looking for somewhere new to go next year. It's either that or northern Maine (but I've done Maine already) and I hear it's beautiful up there, and they've got some serious pike and muskie fishing which I've never done. Thanks

    Boundary Waters.

Watch out for moose though. A friend of mine
    was charged there.

I suggest doing the Boundary Waters, or if that
is too remote, try the Apostle Islands on the
Superior coast in Wisconsin, or anywhere in
the Western UP of Michigan, especially the
    Huron Mountains, or the Porcupine
    Mountains.

You may want to consider Isle Royale as well.
No motor vehilces on the island of any kind -
lots of great hiking. Bring lots of bug repellent,
but also expect to listen to the wolves howl at
    night.

I know that that's where Brandon and Brenda Walsh were from before they moved to Beverly Hills. does that help?

Gunflint lodge, on Gunflint lake in the boundary waters. The owner, Bruce Kerfoot, is an old friend of the family, and a super guy. It's a very well run resort. I don't know what the prices are 'cause every time I've gone we've gotten a free cabin. :) You can check the website, though.

    or maybe Hawaii?

From the picture this article paints, the lakes are drying up.
