I just love Elvis Costello and the radio station I listen to in the morning had a Family Feud game.I had the number one answer for 4 seats at Bank One Ballpark to see the Cubs&Diamonbacks.I asked for the Elvis tickets instead,I got them but he said I was crazy. After being awake awhile I,m thinking I love baseball too.I just passed up seeing Sammy!I don,t think I,ll tell anyone round here about this.Anyway I have all summer to win baseball tickets,Elvis is coming this Sunday. So I think I,ll get out my Brutal Youth C.D.and listen to #6.You tripped at every step.

    Diamondbacks suck.

Costello was definitely the way to go, Sister.

You should never have to make a choice between rock'n roll and baseball. When the unthinkable happens, you have to ask yourself -- is it an A team or a B team, an A band or a B band? It's not like you just blew off seeing the Orioles to go see Cinderella's reunion tour.

    Right. Decision.

By J on Wednesday, June 2, 1999 - 01:36 pm:

    Thanks,Margret,that,s so right on.

By Bagpuss on Thursday, June 3, 1999 - 03:09 am:

The baseball season has about three thousand games in it or something doesn't it?

Right decisison - and I watch Cricket!

I'd go see Vanilla Ice over the fecking Orioles. They suck ass, and I'm an O's fan. I was at the Cuban game. I want that barbarian Angelos's head displayed on a pike outside of Camden Yards, and Albert Belle sent down to the minors. As part of the grounds crew. Until then, I'm cheering for Cleveland and keeping a weather eye on the Red Sox.

By Margret on Thursday, June 3, 1999 - 09:06 pm:

May Boog Powell (sp.?) nest in your short curlies.

    Yer right, they do suck.

But Vanilla Ice? Have a heart.

By H on Thursday, June 3, 1999 - 09:09 pm:

J - enjoy Elvis but do check out the D'backs at the BOB before the end of the season. That's supposed to be one cool ballpark. Don't feel too bad about missing Sammy because Big Mac is coming later into the summer. I would love to see Elvis live but I don't think he's coming my way (St. Louis if you couldn't guess by the gratuitous McGwire reference).

Markus - Thanks for the rebuke of the puerile Therrien on the "anywhere but bed" thread. He (I guess Therrien is a he - what kind of name is that anyway?) went out of bounds in some other thread I was reading earlier. What a dick. Anyway, I have always had somewhat of a soft spot for the Orioles just because they used to be the St. Louis Browns. Now that was a BAD franchise.

    But Vanilla Ice?

Margret, our posts crossed. Sorry for the quasi-plagiarism. Brilliant minds think alike I guess.

I remember when Vanilla Ice was cool. It cracks me up watching all the people that used to sing along with him, make fun of him now.

I went to the Elvis show last Sunday,it was at the Celebrity Theater, which is small and intimate.Just Elvis and Steve Nieve, and they blew me away. Two and a half hours non-stop.Four encores and he was even walking through the seats and shaking hands.I never left my seat once. The only thing is I wish I,d gone with someone else.My man was being a real asshole,he kept getting up and going outside, complaining about the seats,I know I posted somewhere that I wear jeans with a 32 inch inseam,it,s 34,my man wears 32,so what the fuck was he complaining about,I was more cramped than he was. Then when they came out for the FIRST encore,he kept trying to get me to go.I held my ground and hooked up outside after it was over, but I was pissed, and he didn,t get any.

By Cyst on Tuesday, June 8, 1999 - 01:38 pm:

34" inseam? you a tall chick?

By J on Tuesday, June 8, 1999 - 01:49 pm:

I,m 5 feet 8 inches tall,my man is 6foot.I,m just short waisted, all legs and arms.

Pot Roast & Waffles a Southern Tradition

Preparation time: 5 min. - 12 hrs., depending on how far along your pot roast is.

    You'll need:
    1 Yummy Pot Roast
    Waffles

Arrange waffles on a plate or serving tray. Using a LARGE meat fork, place the whole slab of meat from pot roast on top of waffles.
Arrange vegetables from pot roast in an appetizing manner around the meat (my wife loves to make a figure 8). Use a bucket to dump juice from pot roast over meat and vegetables. Serve hot with a stick of butter.

For a lower-fat version of this same recipe: Go to Subway or some sissy place like that and eat a chicken salad sandwich.

By J on Tuesday, June 8, 1999 - 03:56 pm:

I,m from the south and I have never heard of that, pot roast, yes, with waffels,no.Ever crumble up your cornbread and eat it in a bowl of buttermilk?

By H on Tuesday, June 8, 1999 - 04:04 pm:

There was a place near where I used to live in Oklahoma City that used to serve fried chicken and waffles. I never tried it but it sounded tempting.

Chocolate cake crumbled in a bowl of buttermilk? -- Yes, on a few occasions. Cornbread? -- Not yet.

And J, with Elvis behind you, get thee to the BOB as the D'backs are in first place!

By J on Tuesday, June 8, 1999 - 04:19 pm:

I know, and I,m working on it.There,s a game today and I,m dying to get my ass in BOB.

By Waffleboy on Tuesday, June 8, 1999 - 05:45 pm:
