Then, this morning, while cleaning out my refrigerator, I dropped a jar of blackberry jam on my left big toe. Now I know why it is swollen and painful. It is also now blue and red. |

I gotta get one of those skeeter zappers. Neighbor put in a koi pond last year, and the mosquitoes have never been worse. Sucks sitting out back in the evenings this year. |
I didn't know chiggers were so tiny. We don't have them in Pennsylvania. My bruise is spreading down my foot as it heals. This is so cool. Maybe ten years ago, my dad got a black eye from a kid we know misaiming a baseball pitch, and his eye was swollen for months. Maybe three or four months. We kept telling him to get his doctor to lance it or use leeches to drain the blood out because the blood was just sitting there under his eyebrow, but he wouldn't do it. |
