I must be (vacation nostalgia)

sorabji.com: Are you stupid?: I must be (vacation nostalgia)
By Spider on Monday, August 19, 2002 - 09:42 am:

    I'm back from vacation!

I went to Salt Lake City to see my family, Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, the Utah Shakespearean Festival to see "Othello," and Bryce Canyon. I saw Wyoming, a little sliver of Montana, and Idaho for the first times -- Idaho was surprisingly beautiful, esp. the land south of Idaho Falls.

I actually have a bit of a tan.

I saw a bear in Yellowstone! And elk, but the bear was more exciting.

I drove for 5 hours straight in the hot Utah desert going 80 mph consistently, and the car did not overheat, nor did my tires blow out, nor did I run out of gas. (Who knew Hyundai Accents performed so well?)

In Jackson, WY, the temperature got up to 75 degrees in the afternoon, with low humidity, clear skies, clean air...

Now, in this pit, it is 9:45 in the moring, 86 degrees with 60% humidity. I'm sneezing. I have 108 emails and 18 phone calls I have to return. I miss my family. Why did I come back??

because you exist in the adult world.

I think it's because I live in Maryland.

I'm considering moving west in the next two years.

    To Utah?

By Spider on Monday, August 19, 2002 - 01:43 pm:

Nah. Maybe Wyoming or Colorado. Utah's too....Utahian.

Colorado,is beautiful, some of the best times I ever had were in Durango, wild srawberries and onions, and I caught 11 rainbow trout in one day.I don't think I coild take the winters, but I'd love to have a summer home there.

By semillama on Monday, August 19, 2002 - 05:12 pm:

Yeah, SPider, you have to go out there in teh
winter before you decide to move, especially
    to Wyoming.

i recommend wyoming or montana if you're not looking for any sort of business career.

i recommend colorado, except for denver and boulder.

I hear that because the humidity is so low, the cold isn't that bad in Colorado. Can't be worse than Maryland, anyway.
