    So a few minutes ago, I heard somebody knocking on the door. It's about 1 in the morning, so I waited until somebody else was awake before answering it.

    "Hi. I deliver papers for the Oregonian, and this lady at the apartments down around the corner is watching my kid."

    Sounds familiar.

    "Well my alternator went out, I don't even know if I'm gonna get my papers delivered tonight, but if you have a couple of bucks or a bus pass or something...."

    Sounds very familiar. My turn.

    "Weren't you walking down 33rd about two months ago?"

    "No ma'am. That wasn't me."

    "Yes it was. I know you."

    "Do you have anything?"

    "No."

    "Well, thanks anyway."

    My friend AJ was taken for a sucker those two months ago. Oh well.
