i remember when i first lived on my own, i was eighteen, every day i would go to the taco maker in providence, rhode island, after work at my job in the metal polishing factory. i would order two bean burritos at 59 cents each. halfway through the second burrito, i would begin to panic, knowing that i was almost done and i still wasn't full. that feeling was horrible, and i will always remember it. i also used to eat a lot of canned beets around that time in my life, they were really cheap and i was anemic.

    Yea. Was young, broke.
Had a job at a resturant bussing tables.
As I cleared the table would slip leftovers into my pocket.

The Hunger Project guys used to ask me all the time to help, and i could never get them to understand that if you don't feed them, there will be fewer hungry, and eventually there would be enough food to go around to all the survivors, assuming they don't keep reproducing. this could serve as a big fat example of How Things Work. but i'm talking about starvation, not just hunger, and i really do think it's wrong to feed starving people.
