What is confections sugar (is it icing sugar)?

And what are graham crackers? are they like sweet plain biscuits?

How much is in a stick of margarine?

    What is cool whip?

    uhm...

    1. i don't quite know what you mean by icing sugar. confectioner's sugar is really fine powdered sugar. it looks like flour. it's good for mixing drinks because it dissolves quickly.

    2. they're crackers - thin crisp bread made (originally) from graham flour and sweetened with honey or molasses or something. good for making graham cracker crusts. i'm not sure what you mean by "biscuit."

    3. the stick of margarine in my fridge is ½ cup. don't know what that is metrically.

    4. cool whip is whipped cream totally made out of inorganic material.

    Thanks Droop.

Lisa (my primo cooking work buddy) has found a few recipies online, but we needed help with the translation of ingredients.

Oh wait, she has another question....

What is liquid smoke? And how much is in a packet of yeast over your side of the planet?

By droopy on Saturday, December 29, 2001 - 07:54 pm:

i'm on a cooking high. i just made an impromptu soup out of black-eyed peas, okra, rice, onions, salt, and a some hot sauce. the cooking part involved drinking a lot of wine. that's important. and cooking soup is a long process. it's possible i'm just drunk. ish.

liquid smoke is a sauce that's supposed to recreate the smoky taste of barbecue or, you know, smoking. in america, you just go to the part of the store where they sell worcestershire sauce and all that and pick up a bottle.

all i can come up with about yeast.

    Thanks again.

    Lisa is very grateful!

I have been practising tipping for when I come to the US (not cow tipping). It's fun. But I am a tad poorer
