I like going to my friends houses and posting bullshit stories. Then I giggle like a school girl when other dumbass freaks respond with statements like "potential murder..." It's either murder or attempted murder-DUH.

I must be mentally ill (I hope) cause I really enjoy it. In the 70's it was even more fun with the CB radio, because you could hear the emotion in their voices. OH SHIT! There's the voices again, must be time for my haldol and meth, gotta go!

    Anonymous...he slips between the cracks
    Anonymous...he sleeps beside the tracks
And he dresses in shades of gray
And he fades into the day

Anonymous...he's the stranger in the park
Anonymous...hears you whistling in the dark
He's the silence when it rains
And he watches you from the wings

Anonymous...he's the whisper in the hall
    Anonymous...the shadow on your wall
Leaves no footprints on the floor
But he's listening at the door

Turn the mirror to the wall
Words break off and then they shatter when they fall
Don't be afraid of all your lies
He knows your patterns and your moods
He can read between the lines

    Anonymous...he sleeps inside your coat
    Anonymous...dissolves in trembling smoke
He's the truth behind your lies
And he's right between your eyes.

Great poetry Ashley. I'd like to read more.
    Original poetry only.

Dude, that was the almighty Tod Ashley of Cop Shoot Cop and Firewater infamy who wrote that. A great songwriter if there ever was one. Now if only his record label would get off its collective ass and release his new album, we could all be happy.

And it's "don't be afraid or avert your eyes," not "don't be afraid of all your lies." Sorry about that.

    You might like this one:

    "The Drunkard's Lament"

Call me a cab and I'll tip the undertaker
That fool couldn't tell a real stiff from a faker
Well, I ain't no fool, I just play one on TV
    'Cause misery loves company
    That's why everyone loves me

Now buy me a drink and I'll tell you all a story
About a bastard who traded in treasure for glory
The treasure was true love, the bastard he was me
    And misery loves company
    That's why everyone loves me

Well, I've been a rich man
    I've been a poor man
    Inside a Saturday night
    I've done the works
And there's one thing I know
You can't win if it ain't a fair fight

I ain't seen the pastor since Sunday bloody morning
All the girls in the choir are in labor or mourning
Take one look in my eyes, I think you'll all agree
    That misery loves company
And that's why everyone loves me

    I've done every shit job
    Handed out nose jobs
Made a few friends in the tombs
But I've found that in most cases
    Fixing the rat race
Is better than pushing a broom

Now, who shall I marry, the junky or the jailor?
Your choices are few when they know you're a failure
But there's one thing, that everyone in the bar agrees
    That misery loves company
And that's why everyone loves me

I heard a tune with the same title, but all I can rememebr are the first words - "Woe unto Drunkards, bloated with ale!"
