One of the best designer brands, the watch/ jewell section of the Bulgari site is amazing, treat your self.I do.

By la on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 - 05:31 pm:

    I don't give a shit about brands, but there's a
certain poetry to repurposing old threads.

    Treat yourself. I do.

I've been working again, for a month now. The
next time my boss comes in I'll get me second
paycheck. and I've just settles on a room, moving
in next week. Tiny room, wood floors, four
    kitties, and a big window.

I can't wait to wake up in a bed again, to sleep
nude if I choose, to have a room filled with craft
supplies and books. Not too much, because it
needs to be my dance studio too; ideally I could
store as much as possible under my bed when the
    spirit moves me.

The most recent San Jose Bike Party was on Friday
night.... my first not volunteering. Showed up
late after work, danced up a storm, had a
wonderful time.... but then faceplanted en route
off my bike doing an arabesque. Boom.

I've got rash on my left arm and bruises on my
thighs. Burn from my clothes on breast and hip.
Broke my glasses and have a spectacular black eye
that didn't appear until Sunday morning and is
already beginning to fade. Had to buy fresh
packages of bandages and anti-inflammatories and
have already picked out several sets of new frames
to buy after I can get my eyes checked again (it's
been two years and I have a back up pair to the
backups I'm already wearing). Getting a new
    helmet this afternoon.

I was already entering a period of reflection and
self-care, my incident simply enhances it.

Mostly I'm looking forward to the move: having a
slightly longer commute and being able to take
care of myself again. And decorating a new space
that's mine mine mine for the first time since
    leaving Portland last year.

By droopy on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 - 02:02 am:

good for you, la. someone here has to have their
    life together.

at least one good thing happened to me: i managed
to get a chance to observe a western kingbird for
more than two seconds. i've taken up bird-watching
    - in a half-assed way - and i've only been
catching glimpses of these birds for the past
    couple of months.

they're part of a larger group of birds called
tyrant flycatchers. and they really are badasses.
the first sighting this evening was a fleeting one
of a kingbird chasing down a great-tailed grackle
almost twice its size. i could tell it was a
    kingbird by its yellow breast.

on my way home, i saw one perched on a power line
between two buildings. i pulled out my binoculars
and hoped he'd stay there long enough to get a
good look. mockingbird sized, yellow breast, gray
head and back, brownish wings with streaks of
black, feathers on head raised sort of like a
    buzz-cut. definitely a kingbird.

just then a gang of grackles showed up, like young
thugs. 4 of them perched near the pole of the
power line while one perched on the wire a few
feet from the kingbird, who didn't even flinch.
the grackle was clearly trying to look
intimidating, but didn't want confrontation. every
so often it would sidle over a couple of steps.
the kingbird just sat there serene and implacable,
every so often letting out an "eeyup" call but
never actually looking at the grackle.

when they finally decided kingbird wasn't going to
be intimidated, the group let out a round of
    frustrated caws and flew off.

western kingbird is my hero. i wonder if i can get
    a t-shirt.

    shirt

No idea if this works for you, I was interested to see if I could make
something in less than ten minutes. It was more like 3.

By la on Friday, May 23, 2014 - 02:40 am:

I've gone way too long not having my shit
    together.

And right now I have every day spoken for. Moving
or volunteering or working (9, 9.5 hour days, plus
    commute, 6 day weeks).

And now I can't get in touch with my ex. I need
the code if I'm going to empty his storage unit of
my stuff, and doing so after my two allotted days
of moving will be a pain in the ass. I'm done.
Some of those things have been in storage over a
year. I want my books and bedding and unicycle
and the rest of my clothes, but I don't know what
I can do if he won't give me the fucking code.
    Dammit.

With your permission, I'd like to join the poppers?
I just have one question, la, were you able to
    retrieve your unicycle?

I actually have a bunch of questions, but right now
I am too giddy to ask them.

I will check back frequently, to see if Mark will
accept me back into the fold?

It is odd that the weather is much cooler as right now after last night storm...I am glad that Chupacverga didn't snuck in.

By Pepper on Sunday, June 8, 2014 - 01:37 pm:

I was watching the designer boat/R.V. on tv. I think anyone who owns these luxury things doesn't have a clue for themselves. I mean we are living in a society that has 17 trillion dollars in debt.
I really don't understand the conception on why the government isn't up in standards anymore.

By Czarina on Monday, June 9, 2014 - 02:06 pm:

Chupacverga did snuck in here last night.
But I was up and ready for him.
He is no longer bipedal, and I think
his flying skills have been,(at least temporarily)
hampered. He left part of himself
here, and i am anxiously awaiting
    his return, to retrieve it.

Should he say to his cohorts, " I just don't
feel like my old self", he would
be speaking the truth, as I am
holding an integral part of him here,
and he just will not seem as scary
    without it.

    I am unscathed.

By droopy on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 - 01:05 am:

it was a very pleasant morning, today. it rained
last night, so it was very cool. i sat out on my
back porch to drink coffee. one thing i noticed,
in my tiny little patch of a backyard, was a patch
of mind growing wild. i had to use a grabber to
snatch a leaf for a sniff test, but i was right.

not far from the mint patch, there were a couple
of decollate snails. they're not huge - about 3
inches long including the longish shell - but
they're the biggest snail you'll see in a city
yard. they're predators, eating the smaller brown
garden snails and whatever else. i snatched up one
of the decollates, using a grabber, and put him on
a small wooden bench i have on my back porch.
(there's a fancier name for this thing, but it's
still a bench). so, i put it on the bench and
waited until it came back out of its shell. when
it did i tried to take a picture, but i spooked it
and it retreated back into the shell. the next
time, i got the picture from behind.

i put both pictures on my facebook page, just for
the sake of having some activity on it.

in the evening i took my daily roll around the
city, my exercise. i live on the northeast side of
down, and i make it all the way to a walgreens on
the southwest side as a halfway point. i always
buy a bottle of cheap wine, and sometimes food.

every so often there's homeless guy sitting out on
the front. sometimes they ask for money, sometimes
they don't. this time it was a young guy: maybe
18, maybe a year younger or older. he's thin, has
coffee-with-cream colored skin, brownish hair with
blonde highlights in a natural bob dylan 'fro. the
kind of guy who's of indeterminate ethnicity and
about whom you could say was a mix of almost
anything and be sure of nothing.

as i rolled past, he asked me for change. i was
about to roll into the walgreens to pay for my
bottle of wine with change from my pickle jar.
these are tight times. he asked me for a quarter,
so i reached in my bad and gave him two. went into
the walgreens and got my wine.

when i came back out, i gave him some more of the
change in my back. but not all. he asked me if the
coffee shop across the street would sell a cup
with the money he had. i said i didn't know, i'd
never been there. it's called "buon guiorno", it
had always struck me as a pretentious, over-priced
    place.

as i rolled off, he called to me and asked me my
name. i told him. he said: "my name is noz." i had
    to ask him to repeat it, but that's what he said;
or that's what it sounded like. looking that up
online, i found it was a slang term for nitrous
oxide (as a recreational drug), the word for
walnut in certain languages, and something else in
breton i can't remember. then again, it could've
been short for something. i'll never know.

later on, it occurred to me that i should have
told him to go up to the ymca. a couple of blocks
up 10th and right on lamar for a few more blocks.
it was open till eight; he could go into the break
area and get free coffee or, with the money he
had, a powerade from the vending machine. there
have been a couple of nights where i made dinner
out of a powerade and a bag of peanuts from
    vending machines.

on the way home, i went past an old office
building that's been closed for a while. one of
the offices was a united way chapter. the windows
were dusty and a thick chain secured the doors
from the inside. nevertheless, somebody had stuck
a pamphlet in the door. its title was "the
sodomites are coming! the sodomites are coming!"

    sodomites have all the fun.

By Czarina on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 - 03:08 am:

    Thats because they're coming.

By The Watcher on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 - 03:40 am:

I was out with my wife to North West Hospital today. She needed a follow up because of the tube in her left kidney.

On the way back from the hospital the ambulance took the longest route he could find. Which is the exact opposite of the logic of the young lady who took us to the hospital.

Any way on the way back to the nursing home, besides seeing a lot of strip malls that I hadn't been to before, we passed a boarded up bowling alley. I was wondering if they had cleared it out or just boarded it up with everything inside.

I started to think if they just left everything maybe I could buy it. Then I realized that that would be an even bigger stupid idea than anything else I have ever done.

So much for owning a bowling alley.

By Pepper on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 - 04:23 am:

The watcher, this is what I had in my mind about
" Boarded up bowling alley", but anyway, they closed it some couple of years ago all due to economy downfall. I don't know who is to blame on either Bush or Obama.

I am working on my new Nokia Lumnia 521 and I am working on installing the apps there.

A while ago, I found a laptop, someone tossed in the recycle bin, and I was able to retrive it. Guess what was wrong with the laptop? it is the air circulating vent that was clogged with dirt and lint. And now, I got to buy the cheaper power supply and keyboard. But, I had some concern with the ebay as some hacker compromised the ebay's database and I had to wait for a little while.

Both of my knee cap hurts like hell, as I like to wince about the full time job that I despise the most.

By The Watcher on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 - 05:38 am:

I don't know why I'm so gloomy. I just am.

By la on Friday, June 27, 2014 - 01:18 pm:

I got everything. My ex simply hadn't charged his
phone since returning from a wedding in Canada.

But oh how I was a bundle of nerves for a couple of
    days.
