Disabled Erotica???

THIS IS A READ-ONLY ARCHIVE FROM THE SORABJI.COM MESSAGE BOARDS (1995-2016).
By Big Brother on Tuesday, August 4, 1998 - 08:29 am:
I found a page today called 'ParaGirls' Place', which was written by a woman who apparently is in perfect health, but WANTS to be confined to a wheelchair for some reason. It was fairly surreal, but she writes erotic fiction, mostly short stories, with the female lead (Or leads) having some sort of disability, and making the erotic action build around that. Some of the stories were actually pretty hot, in a wierd sort of way... Oh, she also has a shrine to 'Share a Smile Becky', that obnoxious barbie doll with her own wheelchair! The link is

yo... this is the most fucked-up shit i've read all week...

the freaks used to come out at night...

    now they come out online.

By Ms. Wheelz on Tuesday, August 4, 1998 - 01:31 pm:
What, just because a woman is disabled she can't be attractive or erotic?? I'm 29 and I've been in a wheelchair since I was 6- do you know what kind of healthy role models I've had growing up?? None! All the women, all the girls in magazines, on TV, anywhere, were all able-bodied, and the message is that if you aren't able-bodied, you should just crawl back into the woodwork and not be seen or heard. Even all the new shows coming on, which are supposedly more 'politically correct', feature NO disabled people! I mean, in a fantastic mixed-group cast like 'Melrose Place' is there a disabled person? NO! In Mtv's famous slice of 'real' generation-X, has there ever been a disabled person, not counting HIV? No way! So why is this woman, who herself finds people with disablities attractive, and writes erotica from a disabled standpoint, immidiately concidered a freak??!! She is abnormal, true, but if she brings something as 'taboo' as a woman in a wheelchair wanting to get laid out to the public eye, then I cheer her on, and any more like her!!

Ms. Wheelz, I think it's wonderful that there is an availability of erotica for all kinds of people. I think they were saying it was weird that she is in perfect health, but uses a wheelchair as an accessory for her sexual relations. But I agree, those pictures need to be out there.

Sex is weird. I love it. Check out Plaster of Paradise, a cast fetish site.

One of the most beautiful women I have ever seen had a stump for a forearm.

I'm pretty sure she thought I was staring for the wrong reason.

By Sarah on Tuesday, August 4, 1998 - 09:38 pm:
when i was in NYC for new years, i met up with a bunch of friends of mine. one of my friends is in a wheelchair. i swear to god, every single guy in the bar was hitting on her. she's gorgeous.

she also has her tongue pierced.

as for disabled erotica, all i have to say is, whatever. it sounds marginally healthier than a lot of other fetishes i've heard of, especially those involving feces. jeeezis.

By Sally on Wednesday, August 5, 1998 - 09:11 am:
True, this 'paragirl' seems a bit off, but I understand where Ms. Wheelz is coming from- sex and the disabled is a taboo that our society just will not cope with in any way. My best friend was in a car wreck back in high shcool and was paralyzed. Of all the things they told her about and helped her with, sexuality never even came up, not from therapists or doctors or anything, even when she asked about it she was basically blown off. She was an attractive, popular seventten year old, and she thought that she would never be able to have sex again. That's a real problem with our society, I think, and although a person who wants to be disabled is definitely pretty messed up, that's no reason to judge the whole concept of disabled erotica the same way. Just my 2 cents worth. Oh, and as for my friend, after alot of trial and error sex was once again enjoyable to her, but she really doesn't get hit on much- maybe she should pierce her tongue!

By droopy on Friday, September 29, 2000 - 02:07 pm:

    heh-heh

dude, you think they let just anybody be in a wheelchair? there are standards. you have to go through interviews, tests, background check.

still, i like your style. i already find myself wanting to sever your spinal cord.

By J on Friday, September 29, 2000 - 02:52 pm:

If they have one to begin with, which I doubt.

By Sam on Friday, May 14, 2004 - 08:27 pm:

Anyone who wants to can disable themselves... I don't recomend it, haha. I don't see any way wanting to disable yourself is mentally healthy.

I am disabled, by the way. And a proud member of the disability community, not at all ashamed to be the way I am. But wanting to be disabled, that's a little strange to me. Maybe someone can explain this fetish?

By Sam on Friday, May 14, 2004 - 08:31 pm:

I am also glad there are people out there not afraid to portray disabled people as sexual and romantic, that's something rarely seen in our society, and something I have honestly struggled with.

By Spider on Friday, May 14, 2004 - 09:55 pm:

Maybe someone would want to be paralyzed because of the helplessness, or because of the feeling of being trapped in one's own body (like a form of bondage), or...eh, God knows.

By Cherry on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 - 06:28 am:

Hmm... Sounds like some people think disability is negative... Whatever! Who cares if someone wants to be different from you? People with diverse characteristics or desires are awesome.

My question is does anyone know where I can get disabilty erotica or disability porn?

By agatha on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 - 12:53 pm:

I think I can speak for others when I say that being disabled makes life harder, and so the idea of someone wanting to be disabled is as bizarre as the idea of wanting to make one's life more difficult than it already is.

Actually having a disability and being happy is another story.

    Also, your name is funny.

By agatha on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 - 12:56 pm:

also, did you try typing "disabled porn" into google? DUH!

By The Watcher on Thursday, July 8, 2004 - 02:38 pm:

Only very warped people want to be confined to a wheelchair.

My wife has MS and her legs have been steadily getting weaker. She spends a small part of her day in a wheel chair to keep from getting fatigued. And, she hates it.

Imagine life with a fifty year old todler. Or being a fifty year old todler.

    It is definately not fun.

By V.v. on Friday, July 9, 2004 - 12:46 am:

You know ive been thinking about this for years, how to we get happy, fast?what button do we press?is it food, houses, cars, money, freedom, status, love, drink, drugs, sex, good looks, being fit,religion,...in the end we run out of options, but i like that "Native American" saying that goes something like "a man dies when he no longer wishes to live" ...so at the back of my mind is the idea that to live to a great age you allways need something to look foreward to,provided of course you can find it.

By V.v. on Friday, July 9, 2004 - 01:09 am:

...perhaps one of our most important reasons to continue liveing are the people that we relate to,not just family, every one that we meet in life, most of them are good people,it runs in to thousands.

By Dodi on Friday, July 9, 2004 - 03:12 pm:

Why would anyone not want to live! Gee, I don't want to miss out on anything, I mean ANYTHING!! We only get one shot at this life, so enjoy it, treasure it and share it, with whom ever you want to....JUST ENJOY!

    CHEERS!

By V.v. on Friday, July 9, 2004 - 07:25 pm:

Jeez, you dont know how special you are,...now just you take a long look at the body language of Americans you see on t.v.,long faces, slumped shoulders, dead at 20,liveing zombies, somthing is missing, big time, what is it?now in my life, perhaps 15 years back,i became a workaholic, real big time,in order to make the big time, you lose your soul, but now i want it back.

By Dodi on Saturday, July 10, 2004 - 12:16 am:

It's really not that hard V.v. You see, what's more important, material things or having someone next to you, who loves you? Working too much will take the life out of you, so you have to make a choice.
Hey, don't get me wrong, money is nice, but does it really bring you happiness? I know some really rich people and their miserable. They don't have to work for anything, I mean anything!! How boring is that? The people who struggle seem to be happier, at least that's how I see it. I could be blind though..HaHa! Having all the material things, does make it easier, but if you don't have anyone to share it with, what's the sense in having it? I don't know V.v...just don't work so much, take a break and enjoy...it could be gone tomorrow.

By V.v. on Saturday, July 10, 2004 - 06:52 am:

I will remember that, but i find it real hard to change to a lower gear, despite at present being on a three week break,i thought it may have given me a chance to alter my mental out look on life,to a small extent it has.I no longer eat so much junk food, its now Greek, with lots of salad. The most difficult thing is trying to give up smoking and drinking, but if i can,i think the effect will be much more than amazing, after all, both are just toxic waste.

By Dodi on Saturday, July 10, 2004 - 01:32 pm:

I totally agree with you! I have never smoked, so I can't relate to what you're feeling, but it can be done. Mind over matter, as they say. I used to love going to StarBucks, love coffee and it's addicting too. I had to give it up, cause it seemed like I was going nuts. I mean, if I didn't have that mocha, my day would be shit! I bacame so moody, stressed and my skin was starting to look bad, and it was the caffeine that was doing this to me. The doctors told me to give it up and I freaked out! I would go at least 2 x daily, so this was difficult for me. I only go 2 x month now and it did help with the mood swings and my skin looks so much better...no more ruddiness. I wish that I had the answers for you V.v., as I don't like to hear of anyone struggling. You have 2 things that are very hard to give up, but if you really want it, it will happen. Next time you take a drink or light up a cig, think about how you're cutting your life short. You have all the money you need, beautiful places to live in, but don't you want to enjoy them...while you're still able too? It's never too late V.v., you can do it and you have the support, from all of us, not just me. People here may not like your comments, but down deep, their concerned about you, so take advantage of that. Positive thoughts coming your way......:)

By V.v. on Saturday, July 10, 2004 - 02:29 pm:

Dodi,i thought of you a few hours ago when i was in a book shop, then i bought this book i have on the desk in front of me,"Being Happy" by Andrew Matthews,he says "We are continually faced by great opportunities brilliantly disguised as insoluble problems"...its the sort of thing you would say!...and at this moment, instead of lighting up a cig,i have lit some sandlewood incence,to make my nose happy!!! :)

By Dodi on Saturday, July 10, 2004 - 02:43 pm:

I'm so proud of you! One day at a time........

By Dodi on Saturday, July 10, 2004 - 02:45 pm:

I got to thinking....life isn't all that difficult...we make it that way.....

By V.v on Sunday, July 11, 2004 - 11:28 am:

Dodi, very true, and if you can improve the life of a person 3000 or 4000 miles away, then your friends should count them selves lucky to know you (i hope they do)...

Hey, if I could be of some help to you V.v...that's great!! I just want you to start taking better care of yourself..then the rest will follow...trust me!

By Dodi on Sunday, July 11, 2004 - 01:45 pm:

Does anyone ever post any photos of themselves? I was thinking about posting one, but I don't know if I should or not. It's always nice to see who you're chatting with..my opinion though.

By V.v. on Sunday, July 11, 2004 - 03:50 pm:

Yes!...not only do they post pics, they have web sites of them selves where you can buy mouse pads,mugs,t-shirts,bumper stickers,...all with the same grinning face...i mean, how can they do that and not feel guilty? ...(must have huge egos i expect)... :)

By Dodi on Sunday, July 11, 2004 - 10:35 pm:

No Way!! So you're saying they do that on this site?

By wisper on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 04:21 am:

uhm, i don't think any of us have mugs or mousepads with our pics on them, at least not that anyone has mentioned yet..... don't know what vv is talking about.

posting pics is up to you Dodi, some people here have done it, some have not.

By Dodi on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 12:46 pm:

Thanks Wisper, I might post one, can't hurt.

By V.v. on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 12:53 pm:

Dodi,no,i was only kidding! but i tell you what,i am allmost tempted to sell posters of my self (with a cork backing)for use as a dart board... :) or...make your own likeness of v.v.,take Vladimir Putins nose,Sonie Bonos hair style,Donald Southerlands long jaw,Lee Van Cleefs eyes,Angelina Jolies lips, eye colour blue/green,golden skin, legs like a marathon runner, big lungs but full of tar, thin but amazingly strong arms and hands, size 11 feet (hulk size),hight 5ft 10 inches...and most of the time (thanks to Dodis help)with a big smile on my face!!!

By Dodi on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 02:06 pm:

    Interesting........

    :)

By V.v. on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 02:08 pm:

By Dodi on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 02:36 pm:

    Right back at ya!

By Dodi on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 02:40 pm:

How does one go about posting something here? I'm not a pro at computers, so it's alittle confusing to me.... :(

By wisper on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 03:43 pm:

you can't post images on the boards. You have to just post a link to somewhere else where the pic is.

By V.v. on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 05:37 pm:

Dodi,or see Dave, just tell him he is a real nice guy, flutter you eyelashes whatever, and i expect he will come up with the goods, when it comes to computers, aint nothing he dont know,...meanwhile,i have this image of you as Goldie Hawn,or Buffy The Vampire Slayer...or even Mama Cass,a fine Lady with a real sweet voice, just keep in touch...and post your description...xxx

By Spider on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 05:57 pm:

I had no idea Dave had a weakness for the fluttering eyelashes. How did you learn that?

By Gee on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 05:58 pm:

    wasn't Mama Cass really fat?

By V.v. on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 06:30 pm:

...Yes,but i dont have a problem with "fat"...fat is more than normal in the western world, you dissagree?now v.v. has 2 inches of "fat" on his stomach, but its a lot less than "meatloaf"...so i tend to feel kinda slim...mostly if i was standing allong side that guy...

By wisper on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 06:34 pm:

yeah but she was fat as in unhealthy.

By V.v. on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 06:57 pm:

Spider, now Dave and me mostly hate each other, but i expect Dave is a lot like other guys, one flutter of a gals eyelashes, and he is just putty in there hands, something to be shaped and moulded to there every whim,i may be wrong, but i dont think i am...and another thing,i do not advise, under any circumstances,as a guy, even blinking in an underground john,in Paris,France, otherwise, you will have your ass squeezed to within an inch of your life (so im told)

By V.v. on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 07:05 pm:

Wisper,i dont know how you can knock her,she was just your average American/German/English girl...

By wisper on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 08:38 pm:

dude, she wasn't healthy. She was way overweight and died because of it:

"Mama Cass Elliot succumbed to a heart attack brought about by the effects of long-term obesity. Elliot had long been overweight (she stood 5'5" and weighed 238 lbs., about twice the proper weight for a woman of her height and build), and the prolonged effects of obesity and several crash diets had weakened her heart to the point of failure."

By Dodi on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 09:09 pm:

Well...I definitely don't look like Mama Cass and I'm not fat! I have been told that I look like Maude Adams (spelling), but I don't think so. I just look like me!

I will send a photo later this evening.

    :0)

By V.v. on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 09:49 pm:

Wisper,as you may know,Mama Cass was one of my all time Lady heros, and as such you must admit, she had a real fine voice???? now at the other end of the spectrum, you got Tina Turner, she may be black, and she got smacked around a lot by Ike,but in v.v.s books, she is one of the greatest Lady singers of all time, can you dispute this??? i think she is amazing, and a credit to all woman through out the entire world...so tell me im wrong...

By V.v. on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 10:16 pm:

Dodi,i am still wanting your postings...

By wisper on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 10:48 pm:

I was never talking about her singing.
Gee said she was fat, I said she was 'unhealthy' fat, you said she was just average.
So i was pointing out that she died from obesity, and could therefore rightly be called fat.

That has nothing to do with her singing, which is indeed quite good. I was not mocking her or her singing. But she was overweight, that's a fact.

By V.v. on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 - 10:26 pm:

Dodi, thanks for the pics, they came out very well indeed,if i ever get a chance i will try to post one of me on a chopper motorcycle that was taken a while back,at the time people people told me i looked like James Dean, but it may have been a combination of black and white film plus a low camera angle.Strangely enough, when i paint in oil on canvas, its allways in black and white, reminds me of old movies, memories, and dreams...

By Spider on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 - 10:39 pm:

The creepy IT guy in my office -- the unctuous middle-aged one who complained to me that his wife was a control freak and told me I seemed sweet, who winked at me in the hallways, who made other sketchy comments to me which I've forgotten, and who made me so happy when he was fired -- had a picture of his motorcycle taped to his office door.

That seems so lazy to me. It's like a peacock who can't be bothered to keep his tail feathers up, so he staples them outside his nest and waits for a mate inside while sipping a beer.

By Spider on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 06:00 pm:

I think it's the mangled English that gives him a rakish air. Or something. Then you remember creepy is creepy no matter what language it's in, and you come to your senses. RIGHT, DODI?

By V.v. on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 06:10 pm:

Antigone, about 5 years hence, you may get to understand me,right now,you dont know shit.......now understand me bro,Dodi is good looking, she is bright, she is smart, can you disagree with that, now no pissing around bro, just tell me where your at,now if you want to make an impact on me,talk sence, dont piss around,i am myself,in my own field,so what can you offer that in any way makes you better than me?i tend to think you have nothing to offer.

By Antigone on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 06:34 pm:

    I don't claim to understand you, V.v.

Now, speaking of creepy, Dodi... Is the allure of ancient places, their colors and textures, the heart of your inspiration? By working with a variety of materials such as fabrics, paper, metals, and collected objects, are you am able to explore the infinite possibilities of the creative process?

    Just wondering...

"...just tell me where your at..."

At the moment, I'm roughly here.

By Antigone on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 06:48 pm:

    "...dont piss around..."

I'm not pissing around. You said she was "too special to spread around" then printed out her picture and postedit it where your co-workers could see. I thought that was funny.

"i am myself,in my own field"

Wait, what does that have to do with you posting Dodi's picture at your workplace? But mentioning that does help me understand you, actually.

"so what can you offer that in any way makes you better than me?"

Well, I've never said I was better than you, but for the sake of argument...

Possibly I could offer a perspective that doesn't always cast myself as a victim? Perhaps?

By V.v. on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 07:52 pm:

BIG ANOUNCEMENT,v.v. according to my doctor, will be dead in 3 months...enjoy,enjoy,enjoy...i just got this wonderfull informatition about 5 mins back from my doctor, hmmmm,my blood vessels are about to explode,my blood pressure is far too much in the red zone,i am way beyond the 180 max output for a normal human heart,up at 240 output, wow, what an amazing day.Take care y,all.,an dont smoke to much!!! i may or may not post again, but just to piss you off,i may try...now all i can advise you is dont smoke, just shut down right now,do it,for me,i cant post much more, tears tend to blur the screen, you dont ever tend to think you can you will die till you die,but unless i can overcome my high blood pressure,i will be dead in 3 months

By Dodi on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 07:54 pm:

    Are you serious??

By dave. on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 07:54 pm:

can i have all your money?

By V.v. on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 07:54 pm:

Fuck, why the hell did i have to go to the doctor for a check up?

By Dodi on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 08:06 pm:

I thought you were pretty healthy V.v.??

It's never too late to make changes, so get going!!

By V.v. on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 08:20 pm:

Dodi/Dave, im not jokeing,my own Doctor tells me im going to be dead in 3 months unless i can give up cigs, strange as it may seem booze is not such a problem,it hardly ups the blood pressure at all,but cigs just shut down your blood vessels by 75%...this just scares the shit out of me,and if any ones getting my money, its got to be Dodi...

By Dodi on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 08:24 pm:

V.v....STOP SMOKING!! Hey, it's all up to you now, so take control of your life....NOW!

By V.v. on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 08:41 pm:

Christ,so how come i have to be the first Sorabji to die on line?Jeez, even The Watcher looks more fit than me,tonight,i am smoking and drinking a lot, tommorrow,i have to see the Doc,and i hate Doctors.

By Dodi on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 08:44 pm:

Okay...the doc told you to stop smoking, but yet you're lighting up....how come??

By Dodi on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 08:45 pm:

What's more important, the cigs or your life?

By Spider on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 08:47 pm:

You won't be the first, V.v.. Fetidbeaver was the first.

By Dodi on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 08:49 pm:

Do you have kids V.v...? If so, live for them, if not, live for yourself and all the people who care about you?

Plus, I don't really like doctors either. I used to work for them and I don't trust them much. I don't believe anyone can give you a mark on when you're going to die. I guess when it's our time, it our time, but we can make changes....if we want to....

By Dodi on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 09:09 pm:

    Prove your doctor wrong!!!

By Antigone on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 09:25 pm:

This is a damn shame, V.v., no matter how you look at it.

But you should take control of your own destiny. Take what was given to you, and what you've given yourself, and do the best with it you can. Don't give up.

    Good luck.

By V.v. on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 09:43 pm:

Dodi, wise postings as allways, now the chances are,v.v. is going to live,i just dont give up easy,i think i know what will happen in the next week,my doc will say stop smoking, and i will, then i will go out looking for someone to punch, because my withdrawal symptoms are to say the least, horrific,i tried this a few times in the past, and it was, frightening, mostly for the people i allmost put in hospital...but its that or die,so tonight,i have phoned a few friends, and told them to keep well away,i am not trying to creep you out or anything, its just what happens when you try to kick a habit that goes back 30 years.

By V.v. on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 10:03 pm:

Anti, thanks for your comments,o.k. we have a few wars now and then, but i dont ever regard you as stupid, not ever, but can you just stick with me on this,i am feeling very low right now,and need all the help i can get,i mean to to have your own Doctor tell you that you may be dead in 3 months is not much fun.

By Dodi on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 10:19 pm:

V.v...I would suggest you go to a natural doctor,
while you're going through your withdrawals. They have certain rememdies that might ease the tension, or pain that you might experience. If you don't know of anyone, go to your local health food store and ask to speak to someone that is qaulified to help you.

I'm sending many positive thoughts your way......

    :)

By V.v. on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 10:28 pm:

Dodi, thanks for that, anything that stops me knocking someone out has got to be worth a try.

By Dodi on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 10:33 pm:

I know, just punch on my picture!! (HaHaHa)

By Dougie on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 10:37 pm:

I hear you about the cigs, VV. I work for a company that produces Linear Accelerators for radiation treatments for cancer patients. I'm in oncology departments pretty much every day, and I see some pretty sick shit, and yet I can't stop myself from smoking. And I often have dreams about getting lung cancer and being zapped by our machines, yet the next morning after waking up from that dream, I can't wait til the coffee brews so I can have my first cig of the morning with my coffee. I guess you call it whistling past the graveyard, or better yet, just plain stupidity. I just hope it doesn't come to smoking through my trach tube.

By V.v. on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 10:40 pm:

Dodi, forgot to mention, your pics the other night? allmost knocked me clean out out my seat, somehow ,spect you have that effect on most guys :)

By V.v. on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 11:02 pm:

Dougie,i liked that posting a lot...can i tell you about a dream i had for the last 3 or 4 nights?it goes im in some prison, dont know where, but im locked up,lots of guys around,a few guards...and stacks of guns and amunition, about 3 or 4 foot high along a staircase, and i keep thinking"why am i hear?"...and i feel so guilty, but why?...i think now,its got to be my cig addiction, but that dream came just a little too late.

By Dodi on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 11:39 pm:

By Antigone on Thursday, July 15, 2004 - 01:54 am:

I'm not sure the pic stuff really matters now, V.v., but I wasn't judging whether it was right or wrong, just that you seemed to say one thing then do another.

Plus, I was just giving you shit.

Anyway, it's never too late to change. The human body has a remarkable ability to heal, but it depends a lot on attitude. Have a positive one, and never give up.

By Antigone on Friday, July 16, 2004 - 06:20 pm:

Today, a few minutes after I got to work, my vision became blurry. It was an interesting affect, only on the left side of my visual field, in both eyes. It looked like a bright fuzziness. It started out small, then got larger until I had a hard time reading from my computer screen. It persisted for about 30 minutes.

I then remembered V.v.'s talk about high blood pressure, and I know that very high BP can cause visual effects, so I started some breathing exercizes to slow my heartrate. It worked, and the effect went away in another 15 minutes. It hasn't come back yet.

I checked my BP a few days ago at a supermarket. It was higher than it's ever been. (156/80, or thereabouts) Methinks I'm going to stop eating a high fat/low carb diet. :) Maybe I'll just replace all of my saturated fats with monounsaturated.

Interesting. I considered migraine, but thought I should have a severe headache if I had one, or that the symptoms shoud be longer lasting. Wrong on both counts.

But they can also be co-incident with hypertension. I've never had one before, and I have no hereditary history, so I'm thinking that's what's caused it.

    Thanks, yo.

By semillama on Monday, July 19, 2004 - 12:36 pm:

I recieved some injuries on Friday, while we are on the subject of Sorabji maladies.

Kazu and I were on the way back from Blockbuster with two discs of Kids in the Hall Season 1, and I was entering a left turn lane for an intersection when an orange Mustang came out from gap in the stopped traffic, exiting a gas station and crossed in front of me. I hit him. My car doesn't look good. His looks better. Both had to be towed. I recieved the only injuries - facial abrasions and a swollen lip from the airbag smacking me in the face, and abrasions from the seat belt. Nothing serious.

Fortunately, that was it. I have a citation for"Improper passing" (Apparently, I passed over a yellow line early) and I probably will need to buy a car, but my insurance won't go up. that's a relief.

so, I'm thinking about a Camry...

By V.v. on Monday, July 19, 2004 - 02:39 pm:

Antigone,i had the exact same eye problems as you (and no headache),sometimes i felt dizzy for 2 or 3seconds,and my fingers felt numb.I dont know about America, but in England if your distolic (heart pumping out)rate goes above 180,you can die at any time,( plus you lose your drivers licence)...I think you distolic rate should be 120-140,depends on age, right now it seems your pressure is the same a sixty-five year old man.Check out"blood pressure"on the net,see your Doctor, and stay happy :)

By V.v. on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 - 05:00 pm:

Antigone,i expect your chilling out right now,but can you get back to me fast?

By V.v. on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 - 05:11 pm:

Sem,so your o.k.? no "after effects"?this stuff happens to all of us,just get on with life, right? :)

By V.v. on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 - 06:17 pm:

Anti,if you think your high b.p. is going away,it wont, get it sorted now,i have no reason to jest,if you ignore your problem, you will die, just do it,and good luck...JUST DONT go through the shit i been in the last week, like 3 or 4 attempts to find more than 2 drops of blood in my left arm,...WHAM,main lineing into a vein to find blood,...and 2 drops come out, from a vein???...well,i get the results of my blood test one week from now,and i think it will show low fat, watch this space, and if im still alive, swear to God i,ll post...love y,all... :)

By Dodi on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 02:26 pm:

V.v....Remember when I said to balance the pH? Well, this is very critical for every stage of health....I MEAN CRITICAL!!!! Once the pH is balanced, the body will start to heal....trust me on this! If you don't believe me, do your own research and start NOW!

I don't really know any of you, but I do care about what happens to you all. I don't like to hear of people going through rough times, whether it be health or emotional.

Thinking about all of you.... :)

By V.v. on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 03:09 pm:

Dodi, just by posting you cheer me up!!! right now i will try anything to get my blood pressure below 180 distolic, how do i balance the pH?...I am on 2 drugs to get the pressure down, but it takes weeks or even months.Any ideas are welcome, all i understand of pH balance has to do with plants,i have a wonderfull garden full of exotic plants,i just wish i was as healthy as them.

By V.v. on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 03:31 pm:

From a few years back,i remember the male body is more alkaline, and the female body is more acid, beyond that i have no understanding.

By Dodi on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 04:14 pm:

You can buy some Litmus paper at a health food store and check your urine first thing in the morning...before you drink or eat anything. I take my greens and a product called Miracle ll and sometimes a product called Km. Don't worry, I'm not trying to sell you anything. :) I would suggest eating lots of raw veggies, especially green ones and take extra calcium. I get my calcium through Garden of Life and they might have this at your health food store. I also take their greens and love them. If you're too Alkaline, you can experience the same problems as being too acidic..be careful. The whole key to this thing is balance. I have to work at it everyday, but it can be done. I also would suggest getting this book..."The pH Miracle, Change your diet, Reclaim your health"

    Stay well.....

By Dodi on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 04:21 pm:

V.v..there's a diet out there that seems to be helping lots of people and it's called.."The Body Type Diet" This was designed to balance the glands of the body..check it out.

I read that you and Antigone get migraines. They say that food allergies play a part in that, so next time that happens, check what you ate that day or the day before. The pH can also trigger headaches.

    :)

By Antigone on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 06:45 pm:

Sorry, V.v., been away from an internet connection for a while.

I've been adjusting my diet and getting more exercize. I've been taking my BP often (almost bought myself a monitor) and it seems it spikes after eating. I've been eating less and modifying my diet to low fat / low sodium. Out owth the lo carb, at least for a while. :)

By Dodi on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 07:14 pm:

Antigone, you might want to check into that Body Type diet. From what others are saying, it helps with everything, including blood pressure. Do you take enzymes when you eat? You might want to consider this too. If the body isn't breaking down the food properly, it can cause a host of problems. Man, I wish I knew the answer..........

    Take care.

By Antigone on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 07:31 pm:

Actually, I started taking enzymes about a month ago. They make me fart up a shitstorm, though.

By V.v. on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 07:55 pm:

Anti, you have a problem with b.p.,dont ignore it like i did,get it sorted now,if you dont,3 to 5 years from now you may be dead.

By Antigone on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 08:10 pm:

Oh, I'm on it, d00d. When I see lights that aren't there, I don't fuck around.

By V.v. on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 08:14 pm:

Dodi,i dont get migraines ever, but i do get bright blocks of colour in my line of sight, they get bigger, then fade out after half an hour, just like Antigone.i will try that test very soon, and post you back as to the results...and thanks so much for helping me out on this :)

By V.v. on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 08:41 pm:

Antigone, have you seen your Doctor about this?if you do,i know he will put you on pills,do you regard your self as over weight?...if you do get on pills, dont just stop, ease down bit by bit,or your veins will close up too fast, salt?dont use it at all,we all get far too much as it is.

By V.v. on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 09:04 pm:

I was talking to an old friend of mine 3 days back,63 years old,yet his distolic heart rate is 120,mine was 240 one week ago,shit...(and the death zone starts at 180)

By Dodi on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 11:22 pm:

I went to the health food store (Wild Oats) and spoke to a gal there, about what's going on with the two of you. Well, she suggested going on the Suzanne Somers program. This program will teach you how to combine your foods. For instance, don't eat carbs with protein and always eat your fruit by itself. You can have carbs (wheat), but only with veggies. She also mentioned this one program (I've heard of it) and it's called, Body for Life. I guess alot of docs are putting their patients on this, especially for blood pressure conditions. You can beat this...ya hear me!!

    I hope this helps. :)

By Dodi on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 11:25 pm:

Antigone....You shouldn't be getting the "toots" from taking the enzymes. I'm sorry, but I laughed when I read that..:P

By Dodi on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 - 11:37 pm:

Antigone..the best enzymes to take are from Enzymedica. I take the Digest Gold and I get them at Wild Oats. Just make sure the enzymes you're taking now, are plant based...critical for digestion and good health.

    :)

By Antigone on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 05:20 am:

Yeah, they're the Whole Foods brand digestive enzymes. They're plant based.

By semillama on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 10:25 am:

I don't know anything about the Suzanne Somers plan, but I tried Body For Life a while back when it first came out. I liked it, but once I started traveling a lot, I couldn't stick with it. I'd like to start doing it again, but with gym access limited now to when my girlfriend wants to go, I think I'll stick to basic workouts.

Let us know what the doctor says, Antigone.

V.v, what lifestyle changes are you making in light of the medical information?

By V.v. on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 02:01 pm:

Sem,you make me feel so guilty, but i will tell you, booze, ive gone from 2 bots of port a night down to 1,cigs from 100 a day down to 20,but im on patches as well, when it comes to health, aint no one more stupid than me.I dont want to intrude, but can i ask your distolic rate?i now ask this of every one i meet,do you have a b.p. problem? ...can you swear to God you dont?...in England,b.p. is called "the silent killer"...out of a population of 55,000,000,16 million people have high b.p.,but only 5 million are aware of it...perhahaps a new law needs to be passed, any one over 21 needs a b.p. test once a year, good idea???

By semillama on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 02:15 pm:

it's normally 120 over 80. It spiked to 142 over 90 right after my car accident friday.

By Dodi on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 02:18 pm:

V.v..I never really check my b.p. I'm 42, so maybe I should keep up on that. Thanks!

By Dodi on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 02:27 pm:

I got in touch with my sister last night (she's a nurse) and she also suggests trying the Body for Life program. She (Kim) said it really does help with the b.p., so please look into that.
Also, if you don't think you're getting enough of green foods, check out Garden of Life at the health food store. I know I don't eat enough of these things, so I just supplement, it's easier that way. I take the Living Multi (optimal), Perfect Foods and the Calcium. The products are expensive, but worth it.
    Have a great day!

By V.v. on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 03:15 pm:

    Dodi,hi darling,i just cant ever thank you enough for your postings,today i did as requested,at my drug store,i have a p.h. testing kit on order,in tommorrow 10 a.m.,also,i think i need a b.p. monitor,all electronic,and at 60$ is a real steal,you asked me a while back,do i have a wife,girlfriend,kids to lean on?no i dont,so this time in my life is not easy...cant ever thank you enough for posting...

By V.v. on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 03:25 pm:

    Sem 120 over 80 is superb,just keep it at that,you must be a non-smoker.

By V.v. on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 03:33 pm:

Dodi,my drug store guy just told me too much protein sends your acidic level to Mars, did you know that???

By Dodi on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 03:47 pm:

Yes, and I don't believe in eating too much protein. It seems like everyone is on the Atkins diet, which is harmful to your liver. This is why I stress on greens, greens, greens!!!

I'm sorry that you don't have someone to lean on, but you have ME and the rest of the gang.

Hang in there my friend. :)

By Dodi on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 05:13 pm:

I did some reading and some people are taking Cayenne pepper, Hawthorne, Garlic and Arginine. It didn't specify how much, so I wouldn't take too much. I'm going to look into this further and will let you know what I find.

You might want to try acupuncture. I'm the kind of person, who will try just about anything and I have...."Been there, done that!!"

    Thinking about you!

By Dodi on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 05:31 pm:

Ya know, I think you should check out this one product and yes, it is a multi-level thing, but I'm not here trying to sell anything. You can go to the site and read for yourself on what it can do for you. The product (liquid) is called Km and the companies name is Matol Botanical International...check it out. It's been proven to help with so many things, including the B.P. If you're at all interested, just call the company and order it yourself. I don't gain anything from this. I just want you to get better and if this can help you, that's all I want, nothing more.

By V.v. on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 05:34 pm:

Dodi, how far are we apart?4,5,6 hours, can you work this out?right now i need all the help i can get,my cook (Italian)tells me i need to eat more meat, but i have a real strong feeling this is wrong, what think you???

By Dodi on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 05:50 pm:

I think protein is good, but if you eat too much, it can reek havoc on your system.
What do you need? If you want some of this Km, I will GIVE you some...I just need to know how to get it to you.

By V.v. on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 05:55 pm:

Dodi, cant get my results back in less than 24 hours, but will post soon as pos...

By Dodi on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 06:02 pm:

What results are you talking about...blood?

By Dodi on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 06:09 pm:

Have your cook prepare lots of raw veggies for you. Try not to mix your fruits with your veggies, as this will cause lots of gas.

I'm happy that you're cutting back on the bad stuff, like the cigs...good start. :)

By V.v. on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 07:11 pm:

    Dodi,jeez,just wish i was as strong as you,im not,but i try...

By Dodi on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 07:12 pm:

You're stronger than you think...give yourself some credit. I believe all things happen for a reason.

By V.v. on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 07:39 pm:

Hmmm, looking at your pics again, you and me are the same from the nose down, just a coincidence,right...

By Dodi on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 07:45 pm:

    interesting....ya never know.....

By V.v. on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 08:56 pm:

Dodi, any way you can get on t.v.,or ads?you have the face for it,will you do it?for me?...can you give it some kind of thoughts...i dont think you have any idea just how good looking you are,do you?

By Dodi on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 09:02 pm:

V.v...I appreciate you saying that! I think I'm too old for that sort of thing, but I did some stuff when I was younger. I also did some Community Theater work and that was a lot of fun.
You just put a smile on my face..:)

By Dodi on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 09:12 pm:

V.v...I took those pictures about 1 year ago, so my hair is long now...half way down my back, with straight bangs. With all the nutrition I take, my hair grows pretty darn fast.

    :0)

By V.v. on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 09:29 pm:

JEEZ,well i still think your one of the best looking gals i seen for a long long time,no offence intended, its just me,right!!!

By Dodi on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 09:40 pm:

    No offence taken...:)

Dumbass, I don't want to go offline. I want you to stop posting creepy stalker messages and start emailing the woman so the rest of us don't have to be disturbed.

By dave. on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 10:38 pm:

    f'reals.

By dave. on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 10:53 pm:

ever heard of instant messenger? it's perfect for your conversation.

By moonit on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 11:17 pm:

    I can't believe you're all in a gang!

By jack on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 11:18 pm:

and the thread title has come full circle.

By V.v. on Thursday, July 22, 2004 - 11:32 pm:

By dave. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 12:09 am:

v.v., believe it or not, many folks regularly lurk around here checking for new posts. imagine our repeated disappointment when we see that it's just you and dodi going back and forth like this was icq.

seriously. yahoo messenger is an excellent text dialogue client. you can also do voice and video if you have the right hardware. check into it.

    http://messenger.yahoo.com/

set up an identity and share it with your friends.

By heather on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 12:13 am:

    dave,

    do *you* have one?

    *grin

By moonit on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 12:26 am:

    heh.

By V.v. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 12:32 am:

Moonit,"a gang" is not me,i state my own opinions, its what makes me so unique, and so invaluable,i have good opinions on most topics, and as such, bring in new blood to Sorabji, you are allways welcome to dispute with me any topic you wish, perhaps not many of you would speak in such a blatent way,but i do,i have 56 channels of t.v.,or one silly chat room, count your selves lucky i bother to post at all.

By dave. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 12:33 am:

    what, a huge cock?

yes, i do have an unbelievably huge cock. it's pink, not purple. unless you count the purple dorsal vein.

    if that helps.

By jack on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 12:44 am:

instant email chat messenger you chatboard online bbs are all the same. why must you tedious my me?

By Spider on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 12:45 am:

    Dave, you tease.

Is it anything like this? (NB: May cause trauma.)

By Spider on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 12:49 am:

PS. Please don't answer that. I just wanted an excuse to drop that horror on the boards.

By V.v. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 12:50 am:

Dave, you may indeed have a point...but if people lurk around here waiting for me and Dodi to start a conversation, does it not show what sad people most of the gang are?and do you find the word "voyeur" springs to mind?

By heather on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 12:51 am:

    ew

    to both of you

    actually, to most of you

By jack on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 12:54 am:

no one ever waits for you and dodi to start a conversation except you and dodi.

dave is offering you helpful computer assistance help service pleasantry.

By jack on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 12:55 am:

    also, ew.

By dave. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 12:58 am:

    pickle-dick!

i tell ya, the foresight of those russian morticians. . .

By V.v. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 12:58 am:

Dave, and why does your "huge cock" crop up in so many otherwise intellectual conversations?

By agatha on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:00 am:

    blahblahblahnutritionalsupplementsblahblahblahsomepervertedcommenttosomeoneIdon'tknowblahblahblahdodivvdodivvdodivvblahblahblah

By jack on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:01 am:

i will say that it's nice to see someone use "NB" on a bbs as if someone will understand what it means.

By dave. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:10 am:

because v.v., my cock is so huge it challenges belief systems. it is so huge it exists in my pants despite the impossibility of explaining its existence using the laws of newtonian physics. stephen hawking, in a refreshing display of candor, recently announced a revision of quantum theory that will probably lead to a more accurate explanation of exactly how such a huge object can be contained within the pants of a 21st century human male from earth.

By V.v. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:15 am:

    agatha,fit as allways then?

By dave. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:17 am:

    ho for crying out loud.

By V.v. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:18 am:

dave,so to sum up,you have a black hole in your pants, right?

By jack on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:21 am:

    ho for crying out loud

By jack on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:22 am:

and the thread title is on a second or third revolution.

By V.v. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:24 am:

Jack, are we allowed to speak to each other?

By dave. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:28 am:

if only it were that simple, v.v.

what i have, right here in my pants, simply cannot be accurately described. the language does not yet exist. it can only be described as supernatural. bigger than big. greater than great. better than, uhhh . . . bad. see what i mean? language, always lacking, fails to describe the perfection between my legs.

By jack on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:28 am:

"Jack, are we allowed to speak to each other?"

i don't make the rules. i addressed you directly above. you can post whatever you like, as far as i'm concerned. i do recommend a good night's sleep each night and staying well-hydrated, though.

By jack on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:29 am:

and you clearly have bigger fish to fry in dave.'s pants. or something.

By dave. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:32 am:

go tell it on the mountain, jack.

By jack on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:34 am:

postscript v1.02: lengthy threads often come about from misunderstandings rather than charisma, (an english word that is sometimes misunderstood to mean the same thing as "enigma")

By V.v. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:34 am:

not really, its just Dave tends to be more interesting.

By jack on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:37 am:

dave is more interesting. i have no idea what you mean by "not really."

By V.v. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:40 am:

jack, when it comes to charisma,im your man, just look at the size of my thread, allmost as big as daves cock.

By jack on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:42 am:

    good luck with that.

By V.v. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:43 am:

jack, sometimes i think you need to chill out a lot more than you do.

By jack on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:46 am:

    thanks for your concern.

By V.v. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:46 am:

dave,i dont have a problem with your huge cock, but i still think your a big girl.

By jack on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:48 am:

    take it to email already.

By V.v. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:55 am:

dave,as for haveing a dorsal fin on your appendage...nah

By V.v. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:57 am:

jack, hold on now,im getting in the swing.

By jack on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 02:02 am:

    have a good time.

By V.v. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 02:05 am:

    allways!!!

By Antigone on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 03:30 am:

One thing about the V.v. persona, he's certainly arrogant enough to be here.

By dave. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 03:49 am:

yeah, way less lecherous bootlicking and i could tolerate it.

    otherwise, forget it.

By agatha on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 04:20 am:

He ain't no girl, no how.

By Dodi on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 12:53 pm:

Man, this is all so sad....:(

    I think we're all adults, aren't we??

By Dodi on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 12:58 pm:

V.v...did you get your tests back?

By patrick on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:38 pm:

    seriously

    this is a community.

insisting on having otherwise one on one conversations about the mundane (and annoying and unsettling) conversations are best taken to email or IM.

dont you have any sense of whats proper?

    c'mon. get with it.

dave's russian monster cock in a jar (like the combs in the barber shop)? now thats proper.

"and the thread title has come full circle. "

    good one jack

By Dodi on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 01:46 pm:

    :0)

By Dodi on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 02:11 pm:

I definitley know what's "proper" and consider myself a very "proper" person. There is someone here who is need of help, so I will do the "proper" thing and provide information, when I see fit. If this is the only way of doing it, then so be it. If you all have a problem with it, just don't read our postings...it's that simple..really! Move on......

    :)

By David Lee on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 03:36 pm:

We were loading a boar, a goddam mean big sonofabitch and he jumped out of the pickup four times and tore out my stockracks and rooted me in the stomach and I fell down and he bit John on the knee and he thought it was broken and so did I and the board stood over in the far corner of the pen and watched us and John and I just sat there tired and Jan laughed and brought us a beer and I said, "John it aint worth it, nothing's going right and I'm feeling half dead and haven't wrote a poem in ages and I'm ready to quit it all," and John said, "shit, young feller, you aint got started yet and the reason's cause you trying to do it outside yourself and aint looking in and if you wanna by god write pomes you gotta write pomes about what you know and not about the rest and you can write about pigs and that boar and Jan and you and me and the rest and there aint no way you're gonna quit," and we drank beer and smoked, all three of us, and finally loaded that mean bastard and drove home and unloaded him and he bit me again and I went in the house and got out my paper and pencils and started writing and found out John he was right.

By jack on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 04:02 pm:

    very nice.

By V.v. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 09:50 pm:

By V.v. on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 10:59 pm:

How come we get more fan mail than Madonna???

By Dodi on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 11:27 pm:

    You're so funny!

Hey, I'm glad you got all your stuff. How did your b.p. come down so fast? WOW!! I get my pH paper from Enzymedica and I've never heard of the one you got. Man, it checks a lot of things, so take advantage of it. :)

    Keep up the good work!

By Agent D on Friday, July 23, 2004 - 11:45 pm:

By V.v. on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 01:45 pm:

Dodi, how you keeping??? happy i hope, you helped to get me through one of the worst times in my life, now i have the problem of getting through another 120 years of life,(((((((((((hugs))))))))))

By V.v. on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 02:03 pm:

Dodi, why do you need a test???you look about 20 years old to me...can only guess you take no chances, right??? if any one is the "Lara Croft" of Sorabji, its you.xxxxx

By Dodi on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 02:17 pm:

    You're so sweet.....Thanks!!

Well, I test myself everymorning, to make sure my acid levels are balanced. I think what keeps me younger looking is...balance. I also see a Orafacial Myologist and she teaches me facial muscle therapy.

Yes, I take chances!! Everday is something new, so it's never a dull moment.

    "Lara Croft"....WOW!!

By V.v. on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 02:17 pm:

Dodi, you asked a question about my Doctor,so i will answere,to be honest,he is about 68,and he can hardly write notes with his right hand,(stroke)?...i think my b.p. was so high,he perhaps thought i would die in his office,so i think he wrote out a perscription for maximum strenth pills...ideas???

By V.v. on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 02:27 pm:

Dodi, you saw TOMB RAIDERS??? well i can just see you doing 20 backward flips right now,you just look SO FIT...

By Dodi on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 02:28 pm:

Personally, I don't like medications, as they have too many side effects. My father, who is 74 yrs. old, now has liver damage, due to medications. Plus, the pharmacy made a mistake with one of his pills, so this caused more problems for him. My father also has Hep C..from a blood trasfusion, some 30 years ago. I have seen a lot of bad things happen with perscription drugs, and that's why I do alternative medicine. I haven't seen a "regular" doctor in years, so the things that I do...do work, you just need patience.
    I just don't trust doctors.

By Dodi on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 02:31 pm:

I don't think I do any back flips, but thanks for thinking that I can. I work out a lot, but not enough to do that....OUCH!!

    That's why I like black and white pictures...hides a lot. :)

By V.v. on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 03:01 pm:

Dodi, have you tried movies,or film extra stuff,i enjoyed that a lot years back, its no big deal, but lots of fun,you really have the face for it...you get free food, free clothes, and plenty of royaltys, even i was on t.v. for one year.,so nice to get money for nothing...

By dave. on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 03:08 pm:

By Dodi on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 03:15 pm:

I did community theater years ago, and I enjoyed it a lot.

By V.v. on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 04:00 pm:

...and you need to get back into it...(as a fellow artist,i understand you must get quiet times, hence you may need some extra income,i swear you are born for t.v. advertisements.

By V.v. on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 04:22 pm:

Dave,no thanks man,not my bag.If Dodi and me want to remain the biggest crowd pullers on Sorabji,we just got to stay on line, right? :)

By Dodi on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 04:30 pm:

I don't need any extra money..I do just fine. I have a friend who does extra work in films, and I enjoy listening to his stories, but it's not for me. I'm quite content with my life, it's very simple...no hassles.

I agree with you V.v. I like our postings, just the way they are. I'm not here to win a popularity contest.

By Dodi on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 04:36 pm:

Hmmmmm, I said I didn't need any extra money....well, that's not entirely true. Who doesn't want extra money....I mean, come on now!!! Oh well.....

By V.v. on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 04:42 pm:

Dodi,AGAIN,my best respect to your father,if there is any way he can beat his problems,i hope to God he can do it,he sounds like a very, very fine guy to me...

By Dodi on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 04:46 pm:

My dad had his first by-pass surgery, when he was 36 years old. He's had 3 since then, so yes, he has already beat it. They gave him 2 months to live back then, so he has proved them wrong. YIPPY!! He also has a lot of faith and that says it all. I just love my dad!

By V.v. on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 05:09 pm:

Dodi,i think i have to re-post to you,in MY opinion, you are amazing,so ALIVE,so HAPPY,in your life you got somthing very special that most other people dont have, you have a lust for life,i tend to think you found it the hard way, you have so much potential, but you dont use it,(yet)...but i tend to think you will...xxx

By V.v. on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 05:14 pm:

...ALSO,if i get to the States one day, first thing ill do is shake the hand of your Dad.

By Dodi on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 05:25 pm:

I did learn the hard way, but that's the only way. If things just go easy, do we learn to appreciate it? No!! We tend to take things for granted, so when you struggle, you gain more, at least from my experiences.

I think we all have the passion for life, but some are afraid, some are stuck. Who wants to die unhappy? Who wants to be known as an unhappy person, who never enjoyed anything? NOT ME!!!

By Dodi on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 05:27 pm:

Life wasn't meant to be a struggle...WE make it that way.....

By V.v. on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 05:28 pm:

Christ,i at least owe you for your help last week, you are just such a sweet Lady.

By Dodi on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 05:33 pm:

I think if we all smiled more, our lives would be happier. Smiling is free, no cost to anyone. Next time you pass by a stranger...smile. :) Not only does it make YOU feel better, but just think about the person you just smiled at!!

    :)

By Dodi on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 05:36 pm:

You don't owe me nothing. If I could help you out, that's enough for me.

By V.v. on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 05:46 pm:

No,you still dont know how nice you are, most people are nothing like you.I have met 500,000 to 1,000,000 people in my life, thats a fact, you are special.

By Dodi on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 05:47 pm:

Ya know, I got to thinking. Since I've been posting here, you definitely have changed. The sad thing, no one has seemed to notice. You came off as this "evil" (as you put it) person, but lately, you have been sincere. :)

I didn't mind the "evil" behaviour though, but this is nice too.

By Dodi on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 05:49 pm:

You see...people can change...if they want to....

By V.v. on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 06:42 pm:

HMMMM,Evil,no im not,im just me,if the Sorabjis get rough with me,i get rough with them,i came in a year back at the time of a lot of Trolls, most assume im a Troll,im not,im me,v.v.,I post because i get bored of t.v.,im too rich and too bored with life to do much else,so i post,i open up to you because you are beyond most other people in most ways,as you must know, you are an intellectual, and as such i have to post to you,its what we do.

By Dodi on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 06:49 pm:

V.v..don't get bored with life. :( Go do some exciting things, let go and enjoy. You have money, so take advantage of it and do what you wish. Now, that's the life we would all like to have. I'm jealous!

    Keep being yourself!!

By V.v. on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 07:42 pm:

Well thank you darling,i may well do that,i am thinking "national gallery"in Trafager Square,London, have not been there for many years, and i do like pics, allways blows me away,to see some ol, Dutch Master right in my face,wow...got to see "Mona Lisa" in Paris,France years back, and its real small,my self,i prefer Giger,or Gustav Klimt, and i still dont know what YOUR best artists are???

By V.v. on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 07:44 pm:

    So tell!!!

By Dodi on Saturday, July 24, 2004 - 09:39 pm:

I love R.C. Gorman. His paintings are real simple. I love Indian Art and that's what he's known for. I have one of his original pencil drawings and got it for a steal. I don't think these people knew what they had, and I never told them either..HaHaHa!

By V.v. on Sunday, July 25, 2004 - 08:34 am:

Dodi,i will try to find R.C. Gorman on the net today, also,i have to state,Jackson Pollock is rubbish,i mean dribbles of paint (mixed with sand)is just not art.I agree with you on Indian art,its very nice, temple carveings are stunning, perhaps a bit too sexual perhaps?but still superb, allthough i also like very old Chinese art ...your thoughts???

By V.v. on Sunday, July 25, 2004 - 09:05 am:

...yet more stuff,so you got an R.C.Gorman on DISCOUNT???? sounds real cool to me :) ... had a chance 10 years back to pick up a Piccasso limited print of a pencil drawing, in Cork Street,London..."a steal at just 1,600$,sir"I declined the offer, now that pic consisted of about 4 lines, and for me.thats not art.

V.v...I went to an Antique store a couple of years ago and that's where I found this picture (drawing). I got it for $16.95!!!! I just love his stuff, but many don't.
I love Indian pottery, or any pottery for that matter. I wish that I had more originals, but my gosh...who could afford it? I frequent Antique stores quite often, and I'm always on the look for Gorman paintings. I've been lucky a few times, but not enough.

Whenever you see a bargain V.v...take it and run!
