oh yeah, swine, and any one else....

last night what appears to be an amazing documentary started on PBS called Jazz. It's 10 nights long... last night was the start....beginning with the "Gumbo" episode, depciting "Jass"'s rise in the New Orleans Storyville district Jelly Roll Morton and the likes...the footaghe they have previed of the 50s and 60s looks promising too....

im so (pardon me here) jazzed lately...i scored a bunch of new cds and records.....

i highly recommend this documentary, its 9pm every weeknight until NEXT friday, 10 episodes.

i'll geek on those in another thread.

Yeah/this is the one Ken Burns series I've been panting for. But I'm at work @ 9pm so I'll have to wait for the next PBS begathon & get the boxed set.

although....i've read some critcism that he overlooks some major players. my expertise doesn't really pick up until the next 2 episodes....when he gets into the Kansas city scene.....Bird, Kenny Clark, Lester Young etc...our local jazz publica radio is simulcasting it.....
