When I was in junior high and high school I couldn't get anyone to play D&D with me so I became addicted to all the infocom games. I still have them, with all the maps and hint books somewhere packed away in this apartment.

I found the egg, the chalice, the trident, the torch, the coffin, the painting, the platinum bar, the coins, the jewels and something buried in the sandy cove, and holy shit if I just didn't remember where to get the thingamwhat that lets you cross the rainbow. Woo-hoo! I figured out the Loud and mirror rooms, opened the grating, emptied the resevoir, crossed the frigid river, got rid of the cyclops, prayed at the altar, got killed by the theif and turned into a ghost. Yes, I went and got the map, but I am remembering most of the tricks. God, I love this game.
