i didn't read any of that

but waiting for bart yesterday i saw a fragile looking old man with a huge band-aid on his forehead holding a sign that said "tell the vatican to stop torturing the terminally ill"

i wanted to ask him what the hell he meant, but i didn't

Probably their stand on Youth in Asia.

I got a newletter thing a while back on my car... It was really really thick and in the style of those half-size newspapers...
At first glance, it looked like it was a bunch of articles, but upon looking more closely, I found that the whole damned thing was one extremely long rant. You had to follow the labyrinthian mess of "continued on page x" and "continued from page y" notes.
    .
It was written by Reverend somebody and was full of that super extreme right-wing stuff... so far to the right that they're wrapping around to the left. Mostly it was just extreme.
I never really did figure out what he was trying to say, but he obviously felt very strongly about it. 20-some pages of newsprint strong. Lots of blame to spread.

On the further subject of crazies, the show currently playing on the local college station is some sort of meditation thing... Full of stuff that sounds super-deep if you don't actually listen to the words.
It's awsomely nonsensical. Here are some tidbits...
I feel the rain falling down with no intent to release me... transparent with consumption... and painted with the color of my obsession...
Occasionally the DJ pipes in with his own stuff too. It just started, so if any of you want to listen in, go here:

    i dig it!

Unfortunately, it didn't last as long as planned. I think he got complaints about it being too early in the morning for 'Meditation Theater'.
    .
I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but if any of your are around between 6-9 AM on Wednesdays, that's when I DJ. I split the show with a friend, so I'm only on every other week. Same link. I'm waiting for a timeslot to open that doesn't conflict with work so I can get my own show.

    Oh, and sarah...
    .
    You rule.

By sarah on Thursday, August 21, 2003 - 04:15 pm:

no, YOU rule, TBone. say, i put a reminder in my calendar to listen next wednesday. i get in about 8 a.m., which is 7 a.m. over there, so i can catch about 2 hours of the show.

(then i'm off to hawaii later that day!)

i liked the music that was played after that show this morning, but then the hour following that hour i had to turn it off, i got annoyed.

By TBone on Thursday, August 21, 2003 - 04:26 pm:

It happens. Some of the DJs play some really awful stuff.
    .
Thanks, sarah. Woohoo! Off to Hawaii. Have a fabulous time. I'm 13 flavors of jealous.

its a kick ass directory of radio feeds all over the world.

Ive been digging Seattle's college station KEXP and Berkely's KALX lately.

dig some of the Russian channels.

Fledgingly democracies love our decrepit pop

By Spider on Wednesday, August 27, 2003 - 11:59 am:

TBone, do you post your playlists?

By Spider on Wednesday, August 27, 2003 - 12:18 pm:

Aw....I'm listening to yer broadcast right now, and what do I hear but Woven Hand, the side project of David Eugene Edwards from 16 Horsepower. NICE.

By TBone on Wednesday, August 27, 2003 - 05:02 pm:

Actually, my show ended at 12:00 Sorabji time. But I'm sure Steph would be glad you liked her music.
    .
No, our play lists are hand-written as we go and usually incomprehensible.
