I read Dune (by Frank Herbert) this fall, and got the next 2 for christmas. They are pretty neat. They are about a future humanity with an empire stretching across several planets. I really got into them.

    Dune?

    I've
    never
    heard
    of
    this.

Its good if you like science fiction. It's about power struggles and desert survival and its got a good dose of philosophy, too.

    Spice is Life

I was just being a smart ass.

But then i got to thinking that you're a really sweet gal and probably undeserving of my attitude, so Id like to take it all back.

    You're taking it back that you're a smart-ass?

By patrick on Thursday, January 3, 2002 - 02:42 pm:

no, just the commentary/playing dumb about Dune.

By Czarina on Thursday, January 3, 2002 - 02:46 pm:

What do I have to do with this patrick... don't bring me up...

Dune was ok, but for chists sake, NEVER WATCH THE LONG VERSION OF THE MOVIE... And I ain't talking about the 6 or 8 hour versions, I'm talking about the 11 hour one...

It hurt me in so many ways.

By The Watcher on Thursday, January 3, 2002 - 05:56 pm:

I liked the on with Kyle Mcloughlin.

But, the SciFi channel version seemed boring.

I haven't had time to read the book.

Which film fersion is closer to the book?

By Hal on Thursday, January 3, 2002 - 06:38 pm:

The 6 hour one and the 11 hour one... However, the 11 hour one is a little to damn close to the book...

By Platypus on Thursday, January 3, 2002 - 10:39 pm:

I liked the one with William Hurt. I think that was his name.
