    It took me two reads to partially get this one. It'll take many many more to understand it fully. Really interesting, in a very good way.

    Funny.

    I just took a 20th Century novel class, and that was the one book we unanimously voted to remove from next year's reading list. We found it racist, sexist, and badly written (reeaallly wordy and redundant).

    Well, to each his own.

    Heart of Darkness signifies a journey into the Heart of Man and not just the Dark Continent-Africa.
    But a journey to the dark recesses of human mind does not always bring contentment...

    I didn't mind the racism, which deserves literary treatment just like any other human phenomenon. I didn't like this book mostly because it was too vague for me to understand.

    Conrad has to be one of the most drab and utterly dull writers ive ever read.
