i'd like to hear what you thought about "factory girls." i'd like to hear what a woman thought of it, particularly one with a chinese mother. |
found. although i saw the movie In The Garden olf Good and Evil first and read the book and while the movie is great, the book is outstanding. |
it did occur to me while i was reading the book that seeing the movie first was really affecting the way i was perceiving the book. a friend was reading "to kill a mockingbird", and i happened to take a glance at it. there was a short note at the beginning by harper lee: basically a letter requesting that there be no forward to her book. she felt that forwards only spoil the book, since it causes you to go into the book without a blank slate. seeing the movie will do the same thing. |
i didn't read the book, but i felt the same way about the movie. it held me 2/3 of the way and then i gave up and started the laundry. |
