    1st Movement. Cleveland Orchestra. George Szell. Judith Raskin. listened to this the past few nights, but still have not managed to survive all of Brahms' 2nd symphony.

    The top version of this work should be Willem Mengelberg's 1939 live recording with Jo Vincent (soprano).

    The premiere concert of this work was in 1904 where Mengelberg conducted the first 2 movements and Mahler himself conducted 3rd and the finale.
