So, MTV news reprots that Melissa Auf Der Maur has left hole to join the Smashing Pumpkins. If true, it's the best career move she's made, I think. The music of the SP is way beyond the power pop of hole. I guess she was unhappy with the inactivity of Hole while Courtney runs off doing movies.

Melissa maybe made the right move, but to go from Courtneys shadow to Billy's even larger shadow....I don't know. The girl can sing! Smashing Pumpins always underused Darcy, and I think she really got fucked by the rest of the band. Let's just hope that Melissa doesn't.
