    For about the 6th time in continual repitition I am listening to Fear Factory's album Obsolete...rockin' good music, esp. Shock, Edgecrusher, Descent, 0-0 {Where evil dwells}, and soulwound...but then again, those frequenting this site seem not to be conducive to listening to metal...

    I'm listening to the new Fear Factory right now. It's interesting, I was trying to figure why it sounds so much more menacing and heavier than other bands who use a similar tuning, and I finally decided that it's because the guitar tone is so crisp and clear, not muddy and buried with the bass guitar. It's similar to Dimebag Darrel's tone from Pantera. Although, I think that their "metal pedigree" would be closer to the last stuff that Prong was doing before they broke up.
