    i don't need records anymore.

last night i figured out how to play the "beverly hillbillies" theme as reggae.

    staight style or ragamuffin?

By droopy on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 01:58 pm:

    dunno.

like toots and the maytals does "country roads".

except at the end. then i do it like mike ness does "country roads".

i'm just in a mood today, patrick. rhiannon is going to send new sounds for my ears.

the "hillbillies" thing was just something i picked out last night when i couldn't sleep. i found that if i used partial chords (root, fifth, root - 3rds'll fuck it up) i could follow the melody.

    listen(D)here's a story(Fsharp)'bout a man(E)named Jed(A)

    a poor(Dflat)mountaineer(E) barely kept (D) his family fed(A)

    then(D) one day(Gflat) he was shootin' (G) at some food(B) when up(A) from the ground(A) come a bubblin'(A) crude(D)

i probably don't have all the chords in the right place up there, but play it and you can hear where everything fits. it's a fun thing to do like playing sabbath's "paranoid" in 3/4 time.
