i seem to remember that it came to light that rod had stolen "do ya think i'm sexy?" from some brazilian singer. you know, "without realizing it". he had to pay the guy royalties then i thought of other stuff. little richard sued creedence clearwater revival because of their song "travelin' band". he won and got royalties. whoever owns the rights that old chiffons song "he's so fine [do-lang do-lang do-lang]" sued george harrison because of his song "my sweet lord [hairy fishnuts...hairy ram-uh]" and also won. i think willie dixon sued led zeppelin because of "whole lotta love". the original was called "you need love" and was done by muddy waters. i don't know how that turned out. chuck berry sued the beatles for "come together". lennon quotes a line from "maybellene" in the song. berry didn't win that case. can anybody think of any others? |
