it's the 1960's. my father and i are out for a walk in our neighborhood. he decides to stop in at a bar. there are no "issues" about alcohol and children. i sit at the bar with him. he has a beer. i have a sasparilla. every two feet or so on the bar is a bowl of beer nuts. i eat them. i love beer nuts.

i like all of stereolab's albums. I've seen them 6 times over the years, on every tour except the last one, and most likely this one up in coming. I have almost everything they have ever done. With the exception of a few compilations and ep's.

They are onm tour again, and Id really like to get to them but im not sure if i can.

Way back when, before they broke through, on the Transient Random Noise Burst Tour, which was 92,93 with Unrest, we met them after the show in Raleigh. Got to hang out. Our pal mike who had gone crazy from acid, snuck in during the day and saw their sound check. He couldnt see the show that evening due to his insanity curfew.

We told them about Mike, at least Mary and Laetitia. We gave Tim our demo tape, and basically suckled like good fans. They invited us to the next night in Richmond and told us they would put us on the guest list. So, we trucked up to VA in my little honda, skipped school, the whole 9 yards and saw them again.

I used to get chills when I saw them. They were always so god damn good live. Stoned, and dazed, they would always provide an extended tripped out version of a song or two like French Disco or some tune like that.
