Top five U2 songs?

sorabji.com: What are you listening to?: Top five U2 songs?
By Spider on Friday, January 10, 2003 - 10:09 am:

    I wrote on the WAYD board that I was listening to U2's "So Cruel," which I consider to be one of the best 5 songs U2 ever wrote. And that made me think of the other songs I would put in that category.

    What would you consider their 5 greatest songs?

    These are mine (in no order, because it's too hard):

    * So Cruel
    * Stay (Faraway, So Close)
    * With or Without You
    * Where the Streets Have No Name

    Oh, the pain! I can't choose just one #5.... I'm going with:

    *The Unforgettable Fire (simply because I love it)

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Come on, Dave, don't you like even one U2 song?

    i guess i'll play along

    Sunday Bloody Sunday
    Bullet The Blue Sky
    With or Without You

    thats all i can think of....you know the radio hits. i havent owned any U2 recordings since highschool.

By Spider on Friday, January 10, 2003 - 12:10 pm:

    I had almost all of them on tape (except "Boy") when I was a young one. I still do, I guess...I just can't find them all.

    A little while ago I heard one of U2's new songs on the radio, and I realized that Bono's voice was like the voice of a family member or something. I just felt so comfortable and "right" when I listened to him, because after years of separation I still knew his voice so well. It was kind of an odd experience....I'll sound like a nut if I try to explain it further.

    1. Mysterious Ways (Achtung Baby! is their best record IMO)

    2. Stay

    3. Stuck in a Moment

    4. All I Want Is You

    5. Zoo Station

    wait. "One" has to be near the top of that list. i'd also include Bullet The Blue Sky and Pride in the top ten.

By Spider on Friday, January 10, 2003 - 12:52 pm:

    Mysterious Ways and One were also in the running for my list. I agree -- I think Achtung Baby is their best album, followed by the Joshua Tree, followed by....well, there's another fight.
