Solid hip hop. None of the experimentation with different musical styles that have characterized their 90s albums. The rapping is probably the best they've done, but the album doesn't really stand out sonically as much as Hello Nasty. Perhaps this is the Beasties simply out to demonstrate they have hip hop chops and don't have to rely on experimentation to produce really tight songs.

I think it's going to have to bear a few more listens but overall it's a real good album. I need to hear it on a stereo though, I have been listening to it through Windows Media player and need to listen to it through speakers with a subwoofer.

its very good. Nothing amazingly excited but theres at least 5-6 good to great songs on there, the best of which being "An Open Letter to NYC", to me because of the 'Sonic Reducer' sample.

I got so much good shit this week. This, the new Alexisonfire is good, the new McLusky is good, and I got this album from a band from Manchester called Oceansize and thats possum too. Good week.
