    lost another national treasure.

    i was fortunate enough to see him live and share a few words with him over the last 13 years from the first time i saw him with JSBX in Chapel Hill. I remember his grandson cedric the drummer was with him. he didnt look more than 12. barely peeking over the drum kit. this was....92 i think and the tour that really brought RL to the masses, with Jon Spencer's co-opting, for which, everyone benfited from, not to mention all the other artists Fat Possum brought subsequently.

    tonight seems a good night to pull all my RL albums out and drink whisky.

    i'm glad i had pao throw in that ass-pocket full of whiskey for me when i was buying a bottle of wine after work.

    i found out that fiddle player vassar clements died a week or so ago. "the miles davis of bluegrass." i realize most of you wouldn't be could dead listening to bluegrass, but one day i found that i couldn't deny that these hillbillies jammed.
