I haven't seen many indie films, nevermind in the theatres. We both went to see it for different reasons; I for the Qabbala references and he for the computer references and both because 'it was supposed to be amazing'. Influenced by the NY Times again, I suppose. It didn't matter why I went. I'm not going to say 'it made me think' or anything like that. It was something that appealed to me in so many ways. The idea that maybe there are some things we aren't supposed to know. The idea that some people will drive themselves insane by persuing an idea they are ridiculed for. I don't know. Was it the plain surreal atmosphere? The Glass-Bead-Game type of interrelated random things all centering on one number? I don't know. I know I'm going to get criticised for this posting, people saying that I need to have a definite reason or that my reasons were too base or too definite. But that doesn't really matter. It just seemed to be to be so well connected, from the coarseness of a 216 digit number to the intricate precision of the spirals everywhere and whatever the hell they meant. Everything seemed to converge and come together. To me, at least. |
Fellini on the big screen. Yum. |
I've been waiting for this movie for some time. I sure hope it lives upto my expectations. |
