movie marathon weekend while i'm sick in bed. Stepmom was a great movie, i balled my eyes out. Ever After was sweet, and Angelica Houston is a great actress. At First Sight was good too. i thought it was funny to see Kelly McGillis playing Val Kilmer's sister and all i could think about was Top Gun.

i don't have any movies to watch tomorrow, so i guess i'll clean out my closet and continue to hack up my trachea. i'm not really fond of Sundays. being sick though makes all the days blend so i probably won't notice as much.

what are you all doing on Sunday?

Movies as well. Rented "Blade" (duuh -- but it was free) & watched it early this morning. Also rented a flick w/Rosie Perez called "A Brother's Kiss" from '97 that I'll watch this evening. I almost rented "Stepmom"/but it was still on red-cover status. Since Blockbuster raised their prices/I only rent the $1.99 Favorites/or on in a while/a newer movie that doesn't have to be back for 5 days. (They're the same price as the red-cover flix/but at least I get to keep them longer/hence reducing Blockbuster's abiluty to turn them over & make more $$ off them.) I refuse to pay $3.50 + tax for 'new' videos that I know will be available in the $1.99 section in a few months. But they gave me a free gold membership a couple of months ago/& I seem to get free rentals every other week now/so I can't bitch too much.

I spent all day reading Anne LaMott's "Tender Mercies" (a wonderful book for anyone who has ever thought abt believing in God but wasn't sure how to tell if God really exists). Now I have to decide whether I'm going to schlep over to my parents' hse. shortly to borrow a roasting pan so I can make roast chicken for dinner/or have bacon & eggs & leave the chicken for tomorrow. Turning on the oven is a big deal here in FL when it's 90+ degrees every day. But we've had a cold snap this weekend -- temps are down to the low 80's/& the bird is already thawed out. So I feel obligated to make it for dinner. But I'm all into my book & don't feel like driving 10 min. to the 'rental units crib.

Plus there's a 7:30 showing of "8mm" at the $1.50 movies & I've been dying to see it. If I go/I'll end up missing the X-Files/but if I can find a blank tape/I guess I can record it & watch it later.

What I'm really supposed to be doing is checking out computer systems for sale online for my Mom. But I'm just a big irresponsible schlub today/becuz it's Sunday.

Sarah -- got any whorehound or slippery elm? They'll help sooth that cough some. Or get the name of Shelia's Rx cough syrup/ring up yr doctor & have him phone in a script for some. She says that stuff is killer.
