OK, I knew this was going to be dumb, but I was hoping for an amusing, predictable, typical, standard run of the mill action flick with a taste of hip culture to wash it down.........the dialogue was the most inane dialog, the actors were horrible, ever giovanni was annoying,

I am thankful though I followed up my trip to the video store with a copy of Stanley Kubrick's Killer's Kiss to un-dumb myself.

By the way, A lot of folk think Mean Streets is Scorsese's first film, however, I was recalling his real first full length feature film prior to mean streets called Whos That Knocking at My Door 1968 (orig called Bring on the Dancing Girls in 1965).....fucking amazing film, we get to see harvy Keitel in his 3rd feature. very typical Scorsese film, very antagonistic, very Raging Bull esq........anyone seen this?

Coincidentally, I just rented this this past weekend because of my unflagging Giovanni Ribisi fetish (which is supplemented by a small but consistent crush on Clare Danes and a deep lust for Omar Epps' cheekbones). Anyway, Mr. Nico got it right on. This movie beyond sucks. Would it have been too much to ask for a little fast paced cop drama action? No, they spend the whole movie doing that flattened affect character development thing (which fails miserably) and try to add some zing with the jump cuts, etc., which hang on like cinematographic silk purses from this celluloid sow's ear.
I did think Giovanni was adorable, though, Waffles. All he has to do is make some snarky smart kid faces and I am pleased with him

I didn't notice when I saw this a few months ago, but does it have any Mod culture stuff in it? Scooters or something?
