    This is the new Jeff Daniels movie. He wrote, produced and idrected, and stars in it. The Farrely brothers influence is evident.

    The story is all set in Escanaba, which is in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It's about this guy, Reuben Soady, the "Buckless Yooper" who has never shot a buck in his life. It's mostly set at the Soady deer camp, with his brother, father, and Jimmer Negaumenee from Menominee, who was abducted by UFO's and dresses in skins.

    I'm not sure how funny people not from the Midwest would find this movie, but I busted a gut. The colloquilisms are all right on, and it has the best fart scene ever in a feature film.

    This probably won't make it into theaters outside Michigan and maybe Wisconsin, but when it comes out on VHS, I would recommend it to any of you who ever wondered why I'm so weird, and thought it might have something to do with where I was raised. Or if you enjoy watching grown men douse themselves with porcupine piss to keep away the evil spirits.
