    Oh man.

    What a damn good film.

Spike's films often tend to get washed over...assumption of mere controversy for controversy.

I think this was the most poignant film since Do The Right Thing.

IT was funny, it was sad, the performances were fantastic, the cast couldnt have been better.

All the while...seeing PC-busting recreations of Minstral perfomers...all the stereotypes being played out, all the sucker whites being spoon fed the crap "Im a real nigga cause Im from Sicily..." and the dumb Italian proceeds to "rap". All the while...never forget you are being entertained.

Spike even pokes at himself in the movie. Nothing goes untouched.

But the bottom line is he's is a film maker and entertainer, not a politician.

Arguably one of Spike's best films.

I agree with you all the way. I think the man is way underrated as a film maker. Not enough directors are willing to make their audiences uncomfortable nowadays. I think this was the best movie he made as far as dealing with emotional issues goes, too.

he's never made me uncomfortable. but i smirk at the fact that he probably makes a lot of others uncomfortable.

i got into a discussion with this (what I call) frat boy, from Toronto....white boy, mid 20s, sucking corporate dick (and loving it), and of course he lambasted it. I aksed if he thought the likes of Jesse Jackson and Spike Lee were "rabble rousers". Of course the dumbass said yes. I berate this dumbass whenever I can. He thinks Im playing with him.

    Im not playing with him

Great movie. I saw it over the weekend, due to
    your post.

"I told you, I'm more black than you are. Look at
all the brothers on the wall."

    Incredible movie.
