it's difficult to describe how i feel, because when i say that it wasn't as good as the first one, that means it's still amazing. It is really good, fun, and darker than the first one as well. But i didn't think it was AS good as #1, but remember that i don't think any new Potter movie could be THAT good. Okay, let's say that 1 is brownies and 2 is muffins. Sure brownies are better, but that doesn't mean that muffins taste like shit. Muffins are a delightful treat, and so is this movie ;) so you should go. It's wonderful. Kenneth Branagh is THE MAN, as usual, and Alan Rickman remains tasty as ever. And Snape's dad is all evil n' stuff. And there's this cool phoenix. |

However, I thought it was better than the first, too. Less exposition, darker, more tension. You felt as though the characters had personality, they were a lot stronger. Although it was wierd having the boys make this sudden jump (bigger, deeper voices). I have a feeling the Ron-Harry-Hermione tension is going to be played up a lot more in the movies than it was in the books, too. And isn't the next one coming out in 2004? Man, no one wants to wait that long. |
