Jesus, I watched a lot of tube last night. Simpsons, Seinfeld, American Idol, Berlin Philharmonic in concert with Gil Shaham playing the crap out of the Brahms Violin Concerto, VH1 Bands Reunited (with the band Berlin), and then the movie Jackpot on IFC last night. I thought it was pretty damn good. About a guy who's left his wife and kid and is trying to to get discovered and hit the big time by travelling to karaoke contests across the country. He and his "manager" (Garrett Morris) drive around in a pink Chrysler and win a few, lose a few. It was directed by the Polish brothers, who did that Twin Falls Idaho movie. I really like those "on the road through middle America, chasing a dream" kind of movies. Oh, and I'm really psyched -- Eddie Izzard's got a new DVD called Circle which I really must get.
