i caught the kosher matinee today.

this movie was brilliant. i'm trying to think of the last movie that compared. nothing i've seen in recent times comes close.

This is the one about WWI, is it not? I want to see this -- tell me more.

By Nate on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 - 07:35 pm:

WWI, yes. boy and girl get engaged, boy goes to WWI and is executed, girl decides he is not dead and searches for him.

it is a love story, a war story and a mystery. it is beautifuly shot. it has little character development tangents ala amelie.

my absolute crush on audrey tautou goes on and on.

How much sex is in it? (I'll either see it with my dad or not, depending, so be explicit.)

I saw this with my mother today. I liked it but thought it would be better. The innumerable "seriously, he's dead......but wait!" moments got to be silly, but Jean-Pierre Jeunet is fucking brilliant.

Sem and I had a long distance date, seeing this
around the same time. Now I am just waiting for
him to call so we can talk about
it. And I am eating cookies.

It was wonderful. Audrey Tautou is adorable.
Gaspard Ulliel isn't so bad either...and my eternal
crush on Dominique Pinon goes on and on...

The cookies are gone, and I just found out that
    Jonny Carson died this morning.
