The Lake House

sorabji.com: Last movie you saw: The Lake House
By Spider on Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 04:03 pm:

I haven't actually seen it yet. It's been sitting in its Netflix envelope on my mail table for a week.

I stuck it in my queue because when I was in Montana, my roommates thought it was funny that whenever Keanu Reeves was mentioned, I couldn't let the conversation go without pointing out he was a really nice guy in real life. I didn't realize it was a habit of mine to defend him. When the movie came out, they teased me about wanting to see it (which I didn't), but when it came out on DVD I felt compelled to add it to my queue.

Why am I telling you this?

Anyway. Keanu Reeves. Really nice guy in real life.

    how do you know that?

send the movie back without watching it. you'll catch autism.

By semillama on Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 05:55 pm:

oh, i don't know about that. I've watched some real pieces of work from the William Shatner DVD club and I don't think I've gotten autism yet.

Then again, I haven't watched the bonus film that came with King of the Ants (dumb, don't bother) - which apparently has a minor role by Shatner himself. I don't know if I can bring myself to watch it.

By Nate on Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 06:21 pm:

did you see "walk in the clouds" ? i was on antiautistics for a month to clear up that case.

keanu is fine in things like "a scanner darkly." "bill and ted's excellent adventure." "the matrix."

i don't think shatner has ever been credibly linked to autism. keanu, robert goulet, bagged baby spinach, sperm of men over forty, etc. those are the dangers.

i can vouch that KR is nice in real life. I had dinner with him a couple of years ago.

but otherwise im with nate. send it back and avoid sperm of men over 40. the world is so scary.

By GOULET on Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 06:44 pm:

but dont avoid Will Ferrell's impersonations of Goulet because they are fucking brilliant.

That dude could sing If Ever I Would Leave You. Is he still alive?

By Czarina on Thursday, October 19, 2006 - 11:12 pm:

Sem, you'll be safe from autism if you only listen to the thrilling albums of Shatner and Nemoy.Although, I don't know if the dynamic duo ever collaborated on a music deal. Our loss.

I saw Lake House. I rented it. It was a chick flick. I've seen better movies in that genre. It was kind of flat. You know, like you didn't have to pause it if you went to the bathroom or to get a snack.

When I hear Robert Goulet I always think that Edie Gormet is married to him, but I think she was married to Mel Torme, who was/is a white jazz singer. So this thought should move to the jazz thread.

I've been watching Soap. It really didn't age well, but I will persevere.

By Dr Pepper on Saturday, October 21, 2006 - 01:06 am:

Kneau Reeves was born in Beiruit Lebannon

Did you spellcheck your last post, Dr Pepper? Methinks you didn't.

By Spider on Thursday, June 11, 2009 - 09:55 pm:

So, in case you are haunted by this mystery at night, I did indeed watch "The Lake House," but mostly on fast-forward.

    Now you can sleep again!
