You know, if you buy the particular millenium hype, ezpeciall the extreme christian perspective of devastating storms and the coming of christ....................or if you at least humor it for a moment........god made a good start yesterday in Salt Lake City

By Nate on Thursday, August 12, 1999 - 12:44 pm:

the new millenium doesn't start until 2001.

jesus's 2000th birthday was no later than 1996.

really, i don't see what the hub-bub is.

By Waffleboy on Thursday, August 12, 1999 - 01:14 pm:

no hub-bub, just an attmept to make a humerous point that god hates mormons.................

i am sure he hates the french too but he'll never admit it

By Nate on Thursday, August 12, 1999 - 01:29 pm:

    fuck the french!

i thought that tornado was a pretty good point.

    nature abhors a (moral) vacuum.

Hey! What about the floods in Las Vegas? FLOODS
    in LAS VEGAS!

Now there's a modern-day Gomorrah if there ever
    was one.

    Sod 'em

By TBone on Thursday, August 12, 1999 - 09:34 pm:

I was there for those floods. Great timing, started as I was 20 miles from the city.

They sure as hell got everything going again quickly. The Forum at Caesar's Palace was flooded. In 3 days, they were open for business again. Place looked great. If they hadn't turned been shut down when I tried to go, I'd never have known.

Nate, I hear ya 'bout the silliness of all this. This particular "2000" isn't anything special. Due to our lovely math skills, this year isn't 1999, and most people don't realize that counting starts with 1.

By Antigone on Thursday, August 12, 1999 - 10:48 pm:

In computer science counting starts with 0. Of course, it ends with 1, but that's another story. It's the ONLY other story... sigh...
