i don't want to eat anymore today. leftover veggies, a bagel and a cuppa noodles is enough. half of everything comes with big fat meatballs anyway. i checked the enchanted broccoli forest out du bibliotec. |

i don't do a lot of cooking, but happily i can say that i've never messed something up so badly that i couldn't eat it since i was two. but i don't use microwaves so that is the cure. although i have destroyed saucepans in my tirade for taste. i love doing stir fry vegetables or anything from the moosewood cookbook that i got for christmas from my cousin. veggie food tastes good! |

one time i put curry on my toast and didn't realize it wasn't cinnamon (this was before i did cooking of any sort). my mom wouldn't let me eat it at all. taste-testing is the best testing. |

i've got my breakfast in the oven. i read a recepe for bathed bread (a smashed sandwich). i hollowed out a small loaf of bread and filled it with barbeque sauce and stir fry. YUMMY! there was a recipe for lions heads in food day yesterday, but i'm a bit mad 'cause it's ground pork meatballs. maybe i'll use ground chicken instead. i figure with enough expirimenting, i can turn any recipe into a veggie recipe (or at least mostly veggie). |
Curried pumpkin soup is awesome, although the one I make has chicken broth and heavy cream -- I assume vegans could use vegetable broth and yogurt maybe? |

i forgot that moby's playing at the roseland tomorrow. i was gonna go, but probably won't as (1) i haven't bought a ticket and (2)i won't have anyone to go with. but moby's going to be at the knrk studio from 1:30 pm tomorrow. i should probably get off and call gustav. |

but i can't eat it if i recognize it as such. if the fish still has the head the tail the skin i can't eat it. i only eat chicken and fish to please my parents. my dad got really angry at me for being veggie and forced me to eat at lest some meat again. i don't really care if someone else eats it, as long as they don't force it on me. isolde: do you mean vegan or strict vegetarian? |

but most people (as in my dad) would say that i'm just picky because i won't eat pork sausage or eat a regular hamburger. in my heart, i am veggie. as soon as i move out, i'm going to be veggie again. |

it got to the point where i started obsessing about what i didn't eat....... and i would rather just eat a piece of cake once in a while than to have this internal war about it all the time. for me, veganism is just a label for how i eat, not my religion or political platform. my religion is more about sparkly underwear and rubber grapes. we should trade recipes sometime isolde! |

technically, i live in damascus, about five miles from boring, but it's not even a village. just a 76, safeway, dairy queen, and bi-mart. and churches. lots of churches. i might try and join the incorporation project so i'll live in the city of damascus rather than on the outskirts of boring and happy valley. but i'll only be living here for one more year and i've got better things to do. like eat bagels and take pictures of sheep and write. |
