the whole last year of playboy, so of course, being such a naughty mavis, i swiped them so i can cause mischief later....... then later, me and wendy were scrutinizing them, trying to figure out what is so insidious about them...all we could narrow it down to was a) the top-heaviness and obvious implants some of those gals have b) that those women apparently only grow hair on their heads, nowhere else, save the tiny mohawk pussy strip c)and the weird, almost-cool fashion, torn out at the breasts withan exacto knife....... we didn't get it. we decided that lesbian porn is much sassier.........hairy gothy ladies and boots.all the playboy boots were so cheesy! yipes! anyway... |
Chyna is in next month's Playboy. |

If I was a boy I'd be too scared to touch her because I bet she could crush me with her pinky finger. |
I found one in my mother's beside cupboard when I was eight. It was an edition that featured footage of Marilyn Munroe's purported porn flick. Maybe Mummy was a Munroe fan. Thanks for this thread Mavis. Talking about porn is always a fun way to spend the day. |

i used to have the stereotypical feminist chip on my shoulder about porn and about 2 years ago i had the opportunity to reexamine what i truly think of it, how i feel about it....i basically came up with these ideas . a. if it's something you're not ashamed to own, if you'd leave it on yr coffee table, for example, it's okay. b. what makes it shameless is seeking out material that reflects your values, not just some fucking trash. but if some fucking trash reflects your values, then that's great. c. if my lover uses porn, i want to share that with them. this is how it all started for me, i discovered some really bad old 80's stuff in my partner's possession. i sort of freaked out and thought stuff like "oh no! he doesnt find me attractive because i don't shave anything and i have curvy wide hips and short hair and i don't look anything like that".....after a lot of thinking and not wanting to be the typical bitchy girlfriend, i sort of confronted him and told him that i wanted him to throw it all away immediately......and then i wanted to take him shopping for material that turns us both on, and stuff that reflected his taste as a generally respectful man...... oh my god! that was apparently the best thing i could have done. it caused him to reexamine his own desires, and we were able to talk more freely about what we expected/wanted from sex....... not that that isn't water under the bridge now..... |
I would rather stay here and listen to this ("terror twilight") than go to work. I don't think most playboy models are attractive. they remind me of poodles. |

Slanted and Enchanted is my fav.... "Summer Babe" my most fav tune Crooked Rain is fun and singable, but Slanted and Enchanted is by far my fav i never understod the whole feminist/porn deal... as long as there was no manipulation with the women who do it......who the hell cares....and im' not sure why people expected porn to reflect some sort of moral code. It's porn, it's fantasy. I thought it funny, i recently rented Deep Throat, as I had never seen it before, you know the classics. the mrs. snickered at thesight of it and continued doing her crossword. minute by minute her attention deviated from the crossword to the tv, next thing you know someone is getting lucky. although i heard after the fact, the main actress, Linda Lovelace, was beaten and slapped around...during, before or after the making of it....apparently you can see bruises all over her...i didn't notice....but yeah it's nice to hear that women can have their interests piqued by porn from time to time......otherwise men will continue to hide it in the closet, keep you out of that realm of his life, never talk to you about itand inherently alienate you out of shame.....and fear of rejection.....men have enough sexual hang ups as it is, taking the burden of porn guilt off our backs is a good thing.....good job mavis...smart "egg" you know speaking of eggs, when ever Gee makes the statement "he/she is a good egg" its likw all of a sudden i hear applause, and reception music....almost like at an awards ceremony...Gee's Good Egg awards... I would like to thank Mark Thomas *sniff sniff* for the freedom and platform to express..... |
patrick -- have you listened much to wowee zowee and terror twilight? I think they surpass their early efforts. and this is a subject I take too seriously, the importance of pavement. I cried on my birthday and had to put all my gifts in a drawer. so I didn't discover terror twilight until this summer. and now this fall my mind is fully ripe for it. |
as far as rock importance...i would have to say the Pixies and Sonic Youth , to me are the most influential and important rock bands of the late 80s and 90s....what do you think? did you ever listen to Watery? that came out before Slanted and it kicks majopr booty as well, but i think my dub taped version has gone kapute! I would also go with Westing also prior to Slanted...this was the first album i ever heard from them......again their early shit is just too good, i was actually disapointed by Crooked Rain......and was therefore pooped on everythign after it.....but i'll take your word for it.... i don't know if these are still available.....but they are less refined, collegy, stoner....much more quirky.... |
who is Chyna? |
also, anyone like Tahiti 80? they're FRENCH! |
help, i'm a rock. |
i have no idea who Chyna is |

hahaha but whooooboy do those folks have a lot of men by the balls. suckers. |
silly! sarah, are you really an upper peninsula expatriate? |
|
a man? posing nekkid in Playboy? all right. all righty then, that's something interesting. Mavis, yes. i was born in Marquette and lived the first four years of my life up there. my parents were undergrads at northern when i was conceived. my grandparents had a summer cottage in Mackinac that we visited frequently. mmmmm Mackinac fudge. every summer i would rent a bike on Mackinaw island and ride the circumference. ate dinner in silly frilly girly dresses at The Grand Hotel. uh oh. brb. |
wait. Chyna is a girlboy? Or just a boy? |
YUM PASTIES! DROWNED IN KETCHUP! |
and not just them, but the pannakakku! |
It's just not very lady like to go around in studded leather bras, chaps and little else, I suppose, then have the audacity to be a wrestler, and even be cheeky enough to clothseline and suplex 275-lb men all over the place. I think Chyna is an advance scout for the Sex Goddesses in their Pleasure Ships. AS far as porn goes, the humor/cheese/Slack value of the older porn is pretty awesome.... |
grody. |
the 70's porn classic "the opening of misty beethoven." * "is misty beethoven your real name?" "nah, i just took it to sound more sophisticated." "so what's your real name?" "dolores beethoven." * i knew you were a zappa fan, sarah. it was only logical that mavis was. |

i have an old porn tape, called Historica Erotica....its a collection of stag films... |
two readerships ... the ones who buy it for the pics, the ones who buy it for the articles (and the pics). the former pays for the tits but their money buys the quality of the articles. tit subsidy. |

production values. fuck indie cred. i want it to sound good. godWEENsatan: the oneness would have been so totally much more kickass with better production. killer ideas, brilliant execution, sucky production. i know, that's why it's so charming: they got baked and recorded it in a shed. but look at what they're doing now. can you imagine how amazing that album would sound if they had better equipment? porn. i had a woman friend tell me she'd much rather look at hustler and it's ilk rather than playboy simply because you can see their pores. there's no airbrushing or at least not to the degree of playboy and penthouse. i agree. that's my story and i'm sticky to it. |
where i said 'slanted and enchanted', i meant 'westing: by musket and sextant' and where i said 'crooked rain', i meant 'slanted' and where i said 'wowee zowee', i meant 'crooked rain'. i like crooked rain the best. as if any of you peckers cared. |

I got wowee zowee when it came out and didn't fully appreciate it at the time, though I later learned to love it. but then I set pavement aside for years and years. then this spring a friend put "the hexx," a black sabbath-inspired song from "terror twilight" toward the end of a mix tape. I called him up, "THIS is what pavement has been up to? how could I not have known?" I had a friend buy me the album for my birthday in april, but, as I said, I was so sad I couldn't put it on until june or so. I put it in the car stereo during my move to seattle, and I couldn't believe how perfect it was. I don't know if it's better than wowee zowee. I don't know if it's better than crooked rain. but it's perfect. a few weeks ago I decided it was time to complete my collection and learn about "brighten the corners." after listening to it for a while I realized I'd heard it before. but none of the songs is especially memorable. even now, I can't think of a single tune on it. it's not offensive, but there's no appeal. so, you guys, dave, patrick. you need to hear "terror twilight." I am preaching. contemporary rock gets no better, I think. if you download tracks from napster (how does that work, whole albums or just songs?), look for 1 spit on a stranger, 4 cream of gold, 5 major leagues, 10 the hexx. they're all good, but those would convince anyone. |
thank you. to the gay men and curious women. play girl sucks. our magazines http://www.menmagazine.com....made by gay men for gay men.... |
napster typically displays individual tracks but you usually have no problem getting the whole album. unless it's fu manchu's "daredevil". i s'pose i'll check out terror twilight. |
tomorrow matt and i are going to see Stop Making Sense at the Art Academy Theater. they're running all kinds of rock n roll documentaries this month, including Isle of Wight, which i've already seen, the Stones movie Gimme Shelter, one about the Sex Pistols that i can't remember. anyway, david byrne is god, have all his solo stuff and tons of rare talking heads stuff. i've seen this movie a dozen times but it's worth seeing again. with all the free porn on the net, it's a wonder why all the magazines don't fold. guess some people really are reading the articles! also: being boring is ok, being bored sucks. |
|
|
the sex pistols documentary is probably "the filth and the fury," which is entertaining for about half its million-minute running time. johnny rotten cries about sid vicious! gimme shelter's supposed to be good. |

Heard a great reissue tonight, a band called Foreign Objects, a local punk band from the late 70s, lots of songs about wrestling, including "I hate Strongbow," about Chief Jay Strongbow, and one about Captain Lou Albano, but the best songs on the disc were "Retired Deviant," and "English Only." They actually hand delivered the CD to my friend after he ordered it, since the label is here in Northampton www.dinorecords.com |
I've been looking for that, but I had teh band name wrong! Whoohoo! |
