    i have been the victim of major sleep deprivation lately.

    i just noticed that, in a recent email to someone on these boards, i said that a book i had just read is: "about a whaling ship in 1819 that gets rammed and sunk by a sperm."

    that should be "sperm whale."

    i mean, it would've had to have been one of patick's sperm; and they weren't found in pacific waters until the latter part of the twentieth century.

    jusmiceself is right. it's a book called "in the heart of the sea", a true story about a whale sinking a ship. it was the inspiration for "moby dick". melville was born in 1819.
