There was almost 10 inches of rain today in Boulder Creek.

    I bet he got wet.

which bob? I assume it wasn't "Bob" since
you didn't use the sacred quotation marks.

By Nate on Tuesday, December 4, 2001 - 06:01 am:

    hot shit. 10 inches.

i bet my creek is raging.

    i better call him tonight.

By LoneStranger on Tuesday, December 4, 2001 - 03:06 pm:

    No. Not "Bob." Just Bob.

    And not J.R. "Bob" Dobbs.

Ya. I keep meaning to call him and hang out with him, but he's probably too busy.

I dunno. When are you coming back?

Dan is itching for World A&A also. He's probably sick of me kicking his butt in Europe A&A.

We ended a game prematurely the other day because I had a massive force getting ready to go into Moscow. He had no forces that could retake Moscow within the turn, so it was a given that I would win.

A few months ago, we were playing with Nick. It was Dan and I as the Allies, and Nick as Germany. He was getting ready to completely toast Moscow, but before he could, I took a rag-tag bunch of misfits all cobbled together into a force and barely took the German capital. When he realized he had to hand over his cash, he threw it on the board and stormed out of the house.

    Ahh. Good times.

Oooooh,I just love it when you talk about men in uniforms.Well,I didn't like that "premature" part too well, but the rest was good...............

By LoneStranger on Wednesday, December 5, 2001 - 02:03 pm:

Maybe I'll have some more stories in a few weeks after I kick some more butt.

And I always try to keep the games going until the end. I hate premature finishes. I would much rather go to a decisive victory.

    Risk? Diplomacy?

By Ophelia on Wednesday, December 5, 2001 - 03:10 pm:

My 13 year-old brother plays diplomacy with a bunch of his friends. They all come to my house and run around making deals, lying, breaking promises, bad-mouthing each other, spying behind doors, etc. Its much fun to watch. Sometimes the game goes on for weeks, and so they'll pass note in school, arrange secret meetings, and chat online about it. They debate for hours on the phone. Its very amusing, but it does tie up the one phone/internet line in my house.

By Spider on Wednesday, December 5, 2001 - 03:37 pm:

I've played Risk, but I've only eavesdropped on my brother's Diplomacy games. Diplomacy sounds really cool, but I don't know the rules.

If anyone here knows how to play, maybe we could set up a game of our own.

Risk always ends up in hilarity. You wouldn't think so, but it does.

By Czarina on Wednesday, December 5, 2001 - 04:05 pm:

I'd love to play Diplomacy. But I don't know the rules either.

I'm up for anything thats fun,and doesn't involve premature endings :)

By LoneStranger on Wednesday, December 5, 2001 - 09:55 pm:

No, not Risk or Diplomacy. Axis and Allies. And Axis and Allies: Europe.

    It's much better.

And if I had my way, we'd never end prematurely!

They always tell me I just want to rub their noses in my win, but I am just thorough.
