you don't know shit. actually when i had my little tripod page and it logged the origin of visitors for me. i was surprised at how many government and military IPs logged into my site. i realize many were civilians dicking around like spunk here, but im sure as many times as the words "terrorist", "bomb", "flight school" and others like them come up here, and potentially make it in a search engine, the greater chance we have of catch the attention of the thought police. |

you might recall i was scouring the internet for information on my uncle, b-17 pilot in ww2. you also might recall a couple of months, i found one of his gunners. well, today, this oh so very very very kind individual has sent me a scrapbook he took 2 months to make. He is a photographer himself and spent time making dupes in his darkroom, copying reports, military documents, other crewmen's stories, pictures and everything else you can think of. i almost want to cry with pride. despite my politics, when it comes to americans in war, i tend to be quite sentimental. the human element makes me forget the political one. there he is. (damn handsome fella if i may say so) he has his Officer's hat on clearly seperating him from the enlisted men. he was afterall, their leader. he was in the squad that dropped the last bombs in europe, another note of pride. I just got it this morning and havent had a chance to look through it all. But just seeing the praises of his crew, who considered him their faithful, tireless leader who got their asses out of enemy airspace everytime, not a single one of them dying, god damn, thats gotta make you proud. anyway, im sure its no so interesting to you, but i just had to share my excitement with someone. |
