ARR! Ahoy there little girl! Shiver me timbers! Shake my belly like a bowl of jelly! So you and your fellow lassies want to come out and visit the old pirates and seawolves and one legged wretches of the National Maritime Museum? I cannot think of a better way for you to earn your Interest Project Patch! What wonderful people you children are! From memorial day til labor day you'll find the museum open from 10am til 6pm, seven days o' the week. The rest of the year, Tuesday - Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday Noon - 5 p.m., on account of our secret pirate rituals and hamdinger festivals! Do you know what a hamdinger is? It is a piece of ham wrapped around a cherry! A favorite pirate food! It will cost $9 for anyone over 12, $7 for anyone between 4 and 12, and free for anyone 3 and under! ARRRR!!! Not a better price you'll find for the lore of the sea! There are group rates, so if you have a minimum of 15 paid guests, it will be $7.50 per adult 18 or over, and $5.50 for anyone 4-17. For some reason the 3 and under crowd is $3 in the group rate. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to this old salty dog, but they don't let pirates make the rules around here. They did try letting pirates make the rules in the beginning, but when we sacked the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History they decided we pirates were best left to answering emails and the like. For more information about the group visits, call over at 800-664-1080 ext. 41074. You'll be talking to a non-pirate, though. They don't let pirates answer the phones anymore, but you'll have to wait until you're older before I can tell you the story behind that one. You're going to have to make reservations if your group decides to visit. Call that same 800 number. Don't forget to love God and Jesus! On your website I couldn't find the information that I was looking for. So I just thought I'd e-mail. We are working on an Interest Project Patch and picked Naticus to be the museum. We plan to go to Norfolk on the weekend of March 15-16. I wanted to know your hours. We also want to know the price for tickets. We are on a troop budget, and were wondering if you all had a group discount on tickets. Please e-mail me back with your answers and thank you for listening to my concerns. |
