Things I'm Tired Of Hearing About

sorabji.com: The Stalking Post: Things I'm Tired Of Hearing About
THIS IS A READ-ONLY ARCHIVE FROM THE SORABJI.COM MESSAGE BOARDS (1995-2016).

By RC on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - 04:29 am:

    - NATURAL MALE ENHANCEMENT PRODUCTS

If you're got a tiny little rice dick -- TOUGH! Life Is Not Fair. But if you took the time to learn how to be a good lover, rather than just poking a woman, she might not complain about the size of your wanker.

(And are men really dumb enough to believe a pill will make their dick noticably larger?)

    - REALITY TV SHOWS

Everywhere you look, there's another one -- like roaches in the projects. ENOUGH ALREADY! Sure, Hollywood loves them because they're cheap to make. But I can't believe *that* many people are really tuning in to watch these stupid shows, week after week.

    - MICHAEL JACKSON

The acusations. The payoffs. His denials about the payoffs. The admission that he made various payoffs. THE GUY IS A FUCKING PEDOFILE -- TAKE HIM OUT BACK & SHOOT HIM & BE DONE WITH IT!

    - PARIS HILTON

WhY does this bitch even have a career? She's a sleazy amateur porn star! Ten years ago, if a so-called aspiring actress appeared in a porn video, Hollywood wouldn't touch her with a 10-ft. pole. Now, they reward a talentless skank like Paris -- who doesn't even need the money! -- with a reality show, a Guess contract AND movie roles? WTF is wrong with Hollywood? But if some dumb wanna-be actor had done the very same thing, he'd be persona non grata in the movie business.

Okay, I just needed to get that off my chest.

So what are you tired of hearing about?

    - RC

By kazu on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - 11:50 am:

I am tired of hearing about Paris Hilton as well. Right now I can't think of anyone or anything else. I think, after I get cable television, I will have more to say. Though, I only really watch the Food and Cartoon Networks, Comedy Central, BBC America, and CNN.

By semillama on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - 02:24 pm:

I haven't been paying attention to anything related to pop culture in the last couple of months.

I can't think of anything, really, that RC didn't already bring up.

I am tired of hearing about RTC Industries, though. That's for sure.

Oh, I am also tired of this damn virus sender that I can't seem to block from my stupid email. And I'm tired of African email scams.

By Dougie on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - 03:15 pm:

I'm tired of hearing the term "weapons of mass destruction." Really tired.

I actually get a kick out those African e-mail scams, especially the flowery language they use in them. I always write back and say, "tell me more -- I'm very interested" but they never seem to write back.

Yeah, reality shows can bite me. I'm also tired of Donald Trump and his combover mess of a hairdo.

I'm tired of travelling. Tomorrow, Burlington, VT, for 3 days, next week, Annapolis, MD for 5 days. Following week, Easton, MD for 5 days (although it's 50-50 whether that gets postponed, which I'm hoping it does).

I'm tired of high profile court cases (such as MJ above, Laci Peterson, Kobe, that Ramsey girl). There always seems to be one running.

I'm tired of my University of Phoenix Online classes -- especially the "learning teams". What a pain in the ass that is. I'm getting really burnt out with these classes. It sucks to get home (or to a hotel) late after working, and realize, "oh shit, I've got a 700 word paper due tonight."

Probably a lot of other shit I can't think of right now.

By kazu on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - 03:30 pm:

I'm tired of hearing about how fat I am.

By kazu on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - 03:39 pm:

I'm tired of hearing stupid politically correct language like,
"traffic calming devices." It's a speed-bump you idiot!

By patrick on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - 03:44 pm:

im tired of hearing evidence of the momentum of which the ex is creating on her run to insanity.

im tired of hearing the voices in my head fret about the toll it will take on one particular person.

im tired of hearing lies and half truths and fantasies.

im NOT tired of hearing ...

oh nevermind. you arent ready for that.

By dave. on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - 03:55 pm:

    tease.

By Rowlfe on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - 04:18 pm:

is the laci petersen thing over with yet?

By kazu on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - 04:33 pm:

    nope.

By Gee on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - 05:33 pm:

I'm tired of people who don't read signs.

I'm tired of being treated like I'm an extension of my desk.

I'm tired of the interoffice rivalry between various departments.

I'm tired of how my Magneto bobblehead keeps falling over like he's had too much to drink.

I'm tired of the automated phone calls I get three times a day because my old student loans have been fucked up.

I'm tired of arguing with Ron.

I'm tired of never having enough time to do everything.

I'm tired of the incompetence of some faculty members. you have a PhD and tenure - why the fuck am I babysitting you??

I'm tired of my poor spelling.

    I'm tired of construction.

    I'm tired of construction workers.

    I'm tired.

By semillama on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - 06:01 pm:

I'm tired of cleaning up other people's fuck-ups.

I'm tired of living far away from Kazu.

I'm tired of trying to get rid of my pot belly.

I'm not tired of posting about how tired I am.

By Lapis on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - 07:49 pm:

I'm tired of the functionally illiterate.

    I'm tired of bad programming.

    I'm tired of the unintuitive.

I'm tired of handling money all day.

    I'm tired of bad composition.

I'm tired of people who don't use their entire disposable cameras.

I'm tired of my developing thumb callous due to the above.

I'm tired of people who don't refill water pitchers when they empty them.

    I'm tired of being ill.

    I'm tired of censoring myself.

    I'm tired of staying home.

By agatha on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - 11:11 pm:

I'm tired of my University of Phoenix Online classes -- especially the "learning teams". What a pain in the ass that is. I'm getting really burnt out with these classes. It sucks to get home (or to a hotel) late after working, and realize, "oh shit, I've got a 700 word paper due tonight."

    * AMEN TO THAT, Dougie! I'm with you all the way.

    * I'm also tired of the functionally illiterate, Lapis. I work with a lot of people like that. I've got this new temporary job at work where I'm supposed to be writing processes for everything we do at my job, and it's amazing how poor people's reading comprehension skills are. It baffles me. I actually sent someone an email today that said "READ YOUR EMAIL" when they asked me a question that I had already answered in another email.

    * I'm tired of getting off work at 6pm. It really bites.

    * I'm tired of not having enough time to spend with my daughter because of work and school.

    * I'm tired of dave being in the garage all the time.

    * I'm tired of my dirty house.

    * I'm tired of having allergies.

    * I'm tired of being a bad student.

    * I'm tired of Patrick, Nate, Sarah, and Pez being sad and having a hard time of it. Cut it out!

    I'm not tired of:

    * my new FrancisFrancis espresso maker. MMM.
    http://www.illyusa.com/AB1666000/webpage.cfm?WebPage_ID=110

    * my new red Toyota Tercel, which we just bought for A HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS. That's right.

    * the book I'm reading: the Da Vinci Code. Awesome!

    * my dog.

    * the rain (yet)

By agatha on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - 11:12 pm:

I guess those don't all involve the expression "hearing about," but I got to vent so screw it.

By Antigone on Wednesday, September 8, 2004 - 11:26 pm:

I'm tired of sem's pot belly too. Mean, greasy little thing.

By Platypus on Thursday, September 9, 2004 - 01:40 am:

    *I'm tired of work

*I'm also tired of traveling. I was just in Burlington, Dougie, sad I missed you. I am going to Hawaii at the end of the month and then Hamburg.

*I'm tired of being frustrated by the idiotic people at work who are incapable of reading, understanding basic directions, or not sucking.

*I'm tired of not having enough money to pay vet bills.

*I'm tired of hearing about supersized breasts, penis enhancers, mail-order college degrees, and forwards.

    *I'm tired.

By RC on Thursday, September 9, 2004 - 03:05 am:

OK - maybe 2 of you I can help.

    PLATYPUS: Check out http://www.petinsurance.com/
My 2 little bastards aren't currently covered, but I had insurance with them previously -- & it saved Sebastian's life. My knucklehead cat was not quite a year old & ended up chewing on a cleaning rag full of Comet (is that the feline equivalent of huffing?) that I'd left under the bathroom sink (one of his favorite hiding places). He had to go on dialysis -- which cost $600, which I didn't have. But I had the insurance & it was covered.

KAZU: As long as Sem doesn't think you're fat, You're Not Fat! Besides -- on the web, every woman if 5'7" & weighs 125 lbs.

PATRICK: "I'm tired of hearing evidence of the momentum of which the ex is creating on her run to insanity."???

Is your gorgeous sloe-eyed model wife now your EX? Don't y'all have a kid now? WTF......? You guys were sickening (but in a good way), you were so much in love! And those amazing pictures you took of her...

If YOU guys are splitting up, Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson must be next!

    - RC

By moonit on Thursday, September 9, 2004 - 04:37 am:

I'm tired of someone at work, who talks constantly. Seriously. She does not stop. And its all rambling bullshit. That rambles into other conversations, and no one listens, and we all don't care but she does it anyway. I call her rainman. To her face. And she doesn't get the hint. She also obesses how fat she is. Now I'm probably three sizes bigger than her (or maybe two) fuck I don't have a clue because I doubt she is really telling me the truth anyway, BUT she doesn't think that by calling herself a big bucket of lard that she could be offending me. I fucking hate people like that and I'm fucking tired of it.

I'm also tired of not having enough moolah to do the stuff I want.

By semillama on Thursday, September 9, 2004 - 10:06 am:

I'm tired of George Lucas fucking around with Star Wars.

Ok, switching the Greedo scene in the cantina to Solo shooting first is good.

Inserting Hayden Christiansen as a spirit at the end of Return of the Jedi?

    ABOMINATION.

By kazu on Thursday, September 9, 2004 - 12:12 pm:

Thanks RC. Also, thanks for the pet ins. link. this whole pet-
having thing is totally new to me. my stepfather spend $450
dollars to have his cat's broken leg bandaged when he was
attacked by a dog. Of course, when the cat chewed it off he
bandaged it himself with popsicle sticks and duct tape. True
    Story.

Of course, this is the same man that made his own flowbee out
of a wet/dry vac and electric clippers and offered to cut my hair
    with it.

    i have good stepfather stories.

By kazu on Thursday, September 9, 2004 - 12:14 pm:

why does my formatting do that???

By Gee on Thursday, September 9, 2004 - 12:38 pm:

    holy crap, she's adorable.

By semillama on Thursday, September 9, 2004 - 05:04 pm:

Wow, look how much more expressive she's getting.

By patrick on Thursday, September 9, 2004 - 05:08 pm:

i need to get some video up and out. her speech is amazing now. the babble is more feverish and the words are starting to form.

By kazu on Thursday, September 9, 2004 - 05:14 pm:

    makes my ovaries SCREAM

By RC on Thursday, September 9, 2004 - 07:23 pm:

    I know, Kaz. Mine too.

She's totally adorable, Patrick. Whatever crap the split with her mom may put you thru, all you've gotta do is look at that beautiful baby & know it was all worth it.

Hire the best lawyer you can afford & make sure you get JOINT custody.

    - RC

By Platypus on Thursday, September 9, 2004 - 08:21 pm:

RC--thanks for the pet insurance link. Unfortunately Shadow's problem is with his teeth, so he won't be covered, but I think I'm going to insure them anyway because it would be a good idea. (I just spent 1,500 on Loki, too, which I wouldn't have had to spend....argh.)

Patrick, that child is entirely too sweet.

By Lapis on Thursday, September 9, 2004 - 10:03 pm:

    Agatha--

To tell the truth, I don't really post anything but my problems. Things are a lot better than they have been in a long time.

I actually have a steady schedule now along with authority over others. Most of those things in my list have to do with work and now I'm in a position to deal with at least a portion of it. There's not much I can do about customers other than whine.

The dance team is doing well, I'm healthy now andI seem to have picked up a boyfriend (or at least someone to date, it feels strange that there's no intimacy though) while working on a movie with friends.

I live with my cat now, in a house where my housemates are friends and the members of the team are some of the strongest (mentally and emotionally) women I've ever been friends with. And that's a blessing. I'm in a better place than I have for a long time.

That's something I'm not used to and it freaks me out.

    Patrick--

She's amazing, especially in the second picture with the pink shirt.

By TBone on Friday, September 10, 2004 - 12:01 pm:

    I'm tired of:

    * People asking me if I'm going to spend the rest of my life in this town.

    * Work.

    * Managing to have some work-hours errand to run every goddamn day.

    * Money.

    * Feeling alienated from my friends because almost all of them are in school, and I'm not.

    * Back Pain.

    * Food.

    I'm not tired of:

    * Coffee. (Congrats on your acquisition of a fine piece of coffee machinery, Agatha. You went with the Illy plan?)

    * My Car. I got 46+ M/G on a recent trip. And it's got Turbo! Vroom! (What's the story behind the $150 Tercel, Ag? My dad's been driving a Tercel for like a thousand years, and it's unnaturally impervious to breakage.)

    * Music.

    * Getting things in the mail unexpectedly. This week I recieved a cheapo digital camera from my Cable Internet Provider. I don't know why. There was no explanation. I also have been getting UPS notices on my door saying I've got a package coming from "Land of Oz". Dunno what that is. My dad also sent me his spare wireless card after hearing that I gave mine to a friend who needed one for school work.

By kazu on Friday, September 10, 2004 - 12:13 pm:

    I'm tired:

    * of my apartment complex manager, who won't post an emergency after hours phone number. I finally have hot water again, after four days without. Next time, I call someone and just take the cost out of my rent.

    * of bad television. I am getting cable. I know, still more crap but at least then I will have: Food and Cartoon networks, comedy central, BBC America, History, Discovery, C-SPAN, and reception.

    * of my broken DVD player.

    * of Sem being so far away

    * of going all day without eating because I literally forget

    I am not tired of:

    * wireless internet in my apartment

    * my new iBook

    * my new IPod

    * my new printer

    * Millennium which I can watch on my computer

    * my kitten. This morning she did the sad kitty face when I was getting ready to leave and jumped in my lap and tried to rub her face against mine (though I am getting annoyed with her night time sleeping patterns. she always seems to enter spazzy kitty mode right as I am getting into bed. she brings her cat toys into bed and plays with them while she also digs her claws into my legs).

By Platypus on Friday, September 10, 2004 - 05:27 pm:

Isn't having a kitten fun, Kazoo?

Loki likes to wait until everyone is fast asleep before launching a kamikaze bed attack.

I think I got the job I just applied for. I am most excited about my radical cut in pay and change in career. It shall be most awesome.

I am also thinking about applying to grad school.

And I want mail surprises. Damn. I need to start ordering things in the middle of the night again.

By Lapis on Friday, September 10, 2004 - 10:11 pm:

Does she ever come in when you're sleeping and pat her little kitty paws all over your face?

Sylvie used to do that. It was really annoying but oh-so-cute.

There's still a year and a half 'til I qualify for financial aid and school will be easier to afford. There's so much to learn!

By kazu on Saturday, September 11, 2004 - 01:24 am:

yes. she loves to put her paws on my face.

she'll be sitting on the arm rest while I'm
lying on the couch and i'll feel her little
    paws in my hair.

By moonit on Saturday, September 11, 2004 - 03:09 am:

Does she randomly attack you? Sometimes when I walk past Ferg, she'll wrap her paws round my legs as if to say 'Mum, slow down'. It's so cute, apart from the odd occasion when she uses her claws.
