Got myself a new car on Memorial Day. :) Then got myself a punctured tire. :( But then I got it fixed. :) Got myself a new apartment. It's in a building that used to be a Catholic school. I will be able to enter/exit through the exterior door labeled "GIRLS." All the units are former classrooms. 4 feet of concrete between me and the apartment beneath me, solid walls between me and my neighbors, neighbors are mostly single professional women age 40+. Architects, lawyers, one FBI agent, two air marshals, a few psychiatrists. Central air, huge windows, brand-new appliances, washer/dryer in-unit, within walking distance to work. In fact, I get to walk to work along my favorite street in town. Move in at the end of June. SO HAPPY |
I won't live in there for the safety of my sanity. Not long ago when I was visiting my friends in Milwaukee, where they lived near, they converted the private school into apartment units. Geez, this whole things is getting weirder. |
I'm sorry you got a flat so soon after buying your new car. The apartment sounds great for you. Good thick walls and floors between neighbors. And, you can walk to work. When I was working there are many times I wished I could walk to work. |
your happiness makes me happy. i'm that selfish. |
What is the last song you listened to, Droop? |
on my ukulele. i listen (i would italicize that if i could) to instrumental music like jazz or classical or whatever. though, once i started using the "shuffle" option on pandora, i hear more stuff from people ranging from sister rosetta tharpe to the velvet underground. the last song i heard, in my wanderings around downtown fort worthless, was lone star trio's rockabilly version of "moving on up" (the jeffersons theme). |

band, i spent a lot of time picking out tv themes. a particular favorite of mine was the flintstone's theme. carl stallings, the guy who did all the music for the old merrie melodies/warner bros cartoons was also a favorite. every so often i'll listen to the local community radio station where they play eclectic mixes. things like hardcore punk and then a conway twitty song. let's say that's one interpretation of eclectic. i know i like some of it, but i never remember it. |

dad's company picnic. The demo tape included the Flinstones Theme. I moved into an upper-floor flat (last month) filled with cats and named The Saucy Pearl. One of my housemates and I discussed putting up a figurehead over the stairs this morning. SO HAPPY |
to do sing-alongs on the bus of advertisement jingles. my baloney has a first name.... i wish i was an oscar mayer weiner.... there was something about frankenmeat that inspired catchy tunes. |
