I have a friend that is a bona-fide contortionist. She can do a backbend, then tuck her head under her butt and sit down on it. Talk about a parlor trick! Soooo...can you imagine the limitless possibilities of sexual postitions these people can do? I'm so jealous. Anybody here ever get the chance to be with someone like that, or are you that flexible, and how does it effect your sex life? Just to be fair, no, I've never been with a guy that is abundantly flexible. Uh, to be really fair, I'd have to tell you what I can do. But who said I'm fair. Let's just say I'm relatively flexible. At the age of 36, I can still do the splits, & if I worked at my Tai Chi and Yoga, I'd be limber city. Now there's incentive to start up again! |
gymnastics, when I was about 11 to my dismay I was told I was too tall for ballet.stuck with the acrobatics.I can stand on my head and spin,do splits, backbends, crabwalks, all that, shit I,m a walking circus, also can ride a unicycle and twirl a mean baton.I was just being my drunk and stoned silly self when I discovered I could put my legs behind my head, and my friend Bruce can do it too.Now that I think about it,we were tripping,at a party, and yes Waffles we got a picture of it,but we looked hideous.I have to say it does come in handy in the sex department. |

Actually the best way to stretch your muscles is to work them out to there last dying breath, you know until you can't even stand anymore cause they hardly have any life left, then stretch them. It is incredible how quickly they will become flexible and also damn strong from the working out. Yes very difficult to do but if you are dedicated that is the best way. if not just take a hot bath and then stretch while you watch West Wing or Friends. |

Oh, another question. Sometimes, when I am stretching, the next day, it is like my muscles don't want to move let alone stretch. They get really tight and stiff. Should I go ahead and push them and stretch them as much as possible anyways? I usually do, but I don't want to be hurting myself. |

You should stretch them but take it easy. I wouldn't really try and push the muscles as much as help them relax by light stretching. You will only ever hurt yourself if you jump into a stretch without your muscles being warm or at least gradually getting into the stretch. Also when stretching your legs and hips make sure that your hips are square. Meaning don't let a hip come up or shoot out. You should be able to put a carpenter's level on top of the hips or the front and they would be even. This applies to almost every lower extremity stretch wether on the floor or standing. this technique provides, usually, a more difficult stretch but it promotes balance and is generally a more comprehensive stretch.(in regards to all the ligaments and small muscles and tendons) |
I stopped doing the stretches in the summer and tried again last night for the first time since then. I can still put the flats of my fingers on the floor (the heel of my palm is still an inch or so off the ground), and I can almost touch my head to my knees. So, I've lost a little flexibility, but only a little, after about 8 months of no activity. That's pretty cool! I'm going to start stretching again. My goal is to be able to sit on the floor with my legs straight in front of me, bend forward, and cross my wrists beyond the soles of my feet. |
